Personally, I would get rid of the Z4. I don't think it looks good, the performance-to-price ratio is kinda shit, and I'm not a fan of roadsters to begin with. They already have convertible 2-, 4-, and 6-series. Replace it with a proper, no frills, driver's car in the $30k-50k bracket. Leverage the meticulous German engineering concept.

Every car from every brand needs to be maintained and most of them dont just randomly breakdown without neglect and all are at risk of random breakdown. I own a 13 yr old 140k mile bimmer for a year and it has never broke down, I replace a cheap part and get a tune up here and there but nothing really major. My mate owned a e60 5 series for like 5 years, bought it at 35k miles and driven it to 85k only major issue was oil valve cover gasket and even then the only issue was just the smell of burning oil, sorted it out and it drove fine. Routine maintenance and tune ups withstanding.

I don't think this is fair criticism given they range in cylinders from 4 to 6. If anything they have been removing options recently. We used to have way more 6 cylinder options now it's only the top end. They stopped doing the NA 6ers in favor of biturbo high end models, unfortunately. Not that I dislike turbos but they're inherently less reliable and I really don't want >300HP, I'm fine with around 220.
