Which one?
I want to buy a truck. Would be a first time truck owner. I have been renting a truck and trailer to take my kids to the go kart track and would like something that tows it. 4 karts + tools + tires + fuel + trailer, etc.
I like the interior of the Honda better but the exterior is better on the Tacoma. I know the Honda has better fuel economy. How is the reliability of both? Too early to tell on the Honda?
Which would you recommend? Any used truck options?

Dude get the toyota hands down cannot go wrong with the Tacoma, the new one is sexy as fuck with the long bed and crew cab. Plus they last pretty much forever. I would never touch a honda truck.

this.
although honestly both would be great for what OP wants to do. the tacoma however, will be more useful as a traditional truck
Tacoma.
The Ridgeline just screams soccer-mom grocery getter. Also has the face of a midsize crossover too with a truck bed attached to it.
But i'll admit, it pretty comfy.
Ridgeline for comfy.
Tacoma for longer bed and actual hauling.

Tacomas also hold their value crazy well.
>>16030323
unrelated to the thread but aren't you the guy with the cool camper bed? post pics?
>>16030292
>what truck do i get
>posts an odyssey with a bed and an actually truck
wow tough choice
Well that was pretty straight forward. Thanks /o/.
>>16030396
lol, yeah. that's me. i've only got those same couple of pics though. i should probly take one with the "cabinet" doors open to illustrate how it works
>>16030407
it's dark out, but i'll see if i can go snag one real quick
>>16030292
Colorado with the mini diesel if you're spending that much.
>>16030407
Just never saved them before and I wanted to because I would like to do something similar.
>>16030292
Tacoma, no question
>>16030414
not a great pic, but you get the idea
if you're going to hook up any sort of small trailer the ridgeline will do it. it's essentially an SUV that looks like a truck. if you do, get the AWD one at least. if you're going to actually want to haul around a quad in the back of it or tow a camper trailer, get the tacoma.

Buy an older body-on-frame silverado.
Easier to fix when something goes wrong, plus you can swap out worn components after a few years of hard use.
Though, actually; all you realistically need is a tow hitch for your honda oddessy, new-ish ford explorer, or rav-4, one of which you doubtless already drive.
The only reason that ""trucks"" like that honda in your pic exist is because almost nobody who buys a truck these days actually needs one, and if they do they either buy a 1500 chevy or an f250 just like their dad and their grandad. Odds are that putting an aftermarket hitch on the crossover or minivan you likely already own will be more than enough to get the job done.
>>16030292
try out the Nissan Titan XD with the cummins in it, i've head some decent stuff about them.
>>16031128
that's a fullsize with a completely different price point
>>16030323
Hey bro, have you had vibration issues, my Tacoma idles and shakes the cab and all.
>>16030292
If you get the Tacoma, do not pay extra for the navigation/Entune package. It's garbage. I know because I'm tech support for Entune.
>>16031460
I have a wire shroud under the passenger seat that buzzes sometimes, and the door panels vibrate a little when the stereo is turned way up. Nothing other than that
>>16030446
That's pretty cool.
>>16030292
get a 7.3 powerstroke for 12k. do you want a real truck or shitty lifestyle vehicles?
>>16031552
Yeah its not great, but ive had minimal issues with it so far.
>>16032804
Because a dumpy full size truck that drives like ass and gets terrible mileage is totally one of the things everyone should want for light duty towing.
Sometimes people like things that you dont. Be a big boy and get over it
>>16032871
>hurr durr old automatically means dumpy
>>16030292
Colorado with the Duramax diesel is the only correct answer
>>16032882
Well, OP is clearly looking for something new, and even narrowed it down to two options, so throwing something else into the mix is either blatant shitposting or a complete lack of reading comprehension on your part.
I'm betting it's the former because you can't bear the thought of people spending their money on things you don't like.
>>16030367
This.
Unless you're a "run it till it dies" autist, the Tacoma or a Canyorado will make up the fuel consumption difference in resale, especially if you get a MT Tacoma or a Diesel Colorayon.
>>16032936
new is shit. especially 40k for a nice taco. 12k will do the job and be less expensive in the long run. he just wants to impress normies.
>>16032953
Which is amazing considering Toyota still can't put a frame under the Tacoma that doesn't rust.
>>16033008
Not necessarily. Hes gonna be paying a shit load more in fuel in the long run with the powerstroke. Especially with a quad cab and towing. Not everyone has the same situation. I, for instance, am already paying out the ass to fuel my cessna. I dont need another fuel guzzler.
We also have no clue where OP lives, a smaller rig could be easier to maneuver where he drives.
>>16030407
man how do you fit in there? looks kinda short desu
>>16033632
Its 6ft 1inch long. Im exactly 6ft tall. Its not the roomiest accomodation in the world, but it sleeps me and the dog just fine. Dunno how it would be with 2 people yet.
>>16033044
Toyota tax is driven by dreams of Moab, you don't have to worry about rust there.
But yeah, a buddy of mine had all of the various rust recalls apply to his truck, got a new frame rails, new shock mounts, new bed, new springs and mounts, new cab mounts, new frame crossmembers, new motor and trans mounts.
And not all at once, one thing at a time, about every 6 months, for 4 years.
Pretty good, considering that his truck was 8 years old when the recalls started.
