With how sexy this is, if Mazda actually runs advertisements, it might be 60% of the sales or more this time around.

It's not made for enthusiasts, duh. It increases weight by 5% while probably not adding any rigidity, judging by the hinges and locking mechanisms.

It's just that that's sad. They could have nailed two birds with one stone by having it secured like a car door is. A 5% increase in weight would have been well worth a 20-30% increase in rigidity.
