Is there any reason to not buy a MR2?

lack of trunk
have you ever driven a MR or RR car, try driving one of those first.
>>16019611
Have you heard about our lord and savior snap oversteer?
>>16019618
You get two, it's not the worst thing ever for a 2-seater.
My mom said she would start making me pay rent if I got an MR2.
Yes, it is too sexy to deal with on a daily basis.
Arguably the best-looking 'average consumer' car ever built.
No trunk
The fact that any moment you could snap oversteer into a tree
Don't the 1st and 2nd gen MR2's at least have frunks?

About snap oversteer.
I personally think the first gen has objectively the best styling, I don't have a car yet but I want this to be my first one.
Mid engine cars are scary as fuck in the rain and when you slip the rear.
>owns a cayman

Agreed but it's still a 30 year old car with 30 year old problems.
My first real car is an AE86 and I knew jackshit about wrenching until life hit me and problems arose in the middle of traffic.
>Replaced radiator with thermostat and waterpump
>Replaced fuel pump
>Rebuilt dizzy
It's only a matter of tiem before something else goes wrong while I'm driving in the middle of freeway so just be prepared to shell out even more after your purchase.

yeah all the first gen MR2's I've seen have had over 250,000 kms and that just seems way too much for a non corolla or civic (aka unbreakable cars). would probably be not long before an engine swap was needed unless I was super lucky. I know the pains of buying an old sports car as my first car but it's really what I want to do, I've always loved the concept of driving and as a kid and teenager I loved racing go karts. also JDM is the best
>>16019763
i'd argue the superior storage space, interior room including head room, and readiness of parts along with some cross compatibility with other 80s toyota's like corollas make up for the age.
>>16019770
go for it, especially if you have had some form of experience with a go kart
>>16019770
I forgot to mention the rust, the damn rust.
JDM is the fukkken best! I know how you feel about loving Go Karts and driving in general so why not get a newer ZZW30? it handles like a go kart and it's fun.
If you want to learn to wrench, you can remove the precats and maybe swap in a 2ZZ whenever you're comfortable.
I know it looks like a gay hairdresser's car but..
>>16019774
I know I can self train a manual, the problem is no one I know owns one. driving school seems like such a waste when all I need is some tips and an hour or so behind the wheel. anyway derailing the thread

problem is around here, you can't find shit for nice old sport cars if you want anything resembling a good deal, the best i've seen under 5k is this https://bellingham.craigslist.org/cto/5786983677.html
but that's across the border and us canadafags have to spend big bucks to just drive a car that was bought in the US, I only make like 1500 a month and a lot of that goes to rent and food.
