Funny enough, my uncle used to own one of this until 2003 or 2004. It was just left in his parking spot and never used it, or at least didn't see him do it, as he had another car that he used.

I liked it, it was funny and as a kid it felt so cool I would spend family reunions just going outside and staying in it. It vanished around 2003 or so, most likely scrapped. Damn I miss the poor thing, I searched around announcements sites to see if anyone is still selling any of those and found nothing. Makes me empty inside.

here in france we have to pay registration costs when buying a used car. the cost depends on "fiscal horses" which are decided by the government for each model of car. for example, a twingo is 4 horses. a bmw 728 is 13 horses. a big old V8 cadillac from the 70's is like 35 horses. the registration costs about 50 euros per horse. total cost of registration is divided by 2 if the car is older than 10 years old. also you don't have to pay at all if the car is equipped with LPG, E85 or is electric

so i paid about 90 bucks to register my twingi

you only have to pay this once when you register the car to your name. after this there's no more taxes to pay. we used to have a yearly road tax but not anymore thankfully.

I didn't do it by myself, electrician did. As far as I remember, signal wire goes to one of these wires. Just cut the isolation, wrap signal wire around bare original wire and wrap it around with electrical tape.
Ground to chassis.
Tacho's "+" wire somewhere behind ignition lock.

There is a hole behind the pedals where all wires from engine bay goes inside. Tie the signal wire to pencil and push it trough that hole or use a straw.

about tacho's calibration
some tachos has switch in the back 2/3/4/6cyl. then you'll have to set it to "2".
If there's knob (or it's hidden and can be rotated by small screwdriver) then you're gonna calibrate it manually. Not hard job. I can help you with that as well.

Also, if you have newer twingo, have you considered obd reader? I guess it'll shows the revs.
