I have a MadCatz wheel somewhere, but it's from the 90's and only saw use with the likes of Nascar Racing 2/3/1999ed.

By today's standards, it's a piece of shit. Dunno what their products are like now tho

I always suggest to folks the Logitech DFGT as the best 'realiably cheap' wheel to use. Just tuck a sock or something under the brake pedal before you calibrate it, so that way the brake has some resistence to it.

My DFGT is still going strong, near daily use (by my dad ever since I upgraded to a G25 in 09') for ~a decade now. It's dirty, weathered, and the rubber is peeling a off, but it still works just as great as when it was bought new.

But really if you can afford it just buy a Logitech G25/27. I bought mine used from a dude on iRacing, and it's still one of the best hobby investments Ive ever made in my life.

I like it stable, as I'm a gamepad pleb and twitchy cars are the death of me. So I guess tight. I drive an Integra irl so I'm trying to use that because it's kinda cool to be able to basically recreate your DD to race with.
I just can't seem to find a balance between speed and handling on it. Either I'm too focused on bolt on engine bits or I throw an exhaust on and put the rest in weight reduction/general handling. online with randoms I can generally hold a top 4 spot but when I actually try to drive it competitively in rivals it just gets shut down.

Setups won't get you anywhere really. You can have a monster setup and be beat by a car that is actually tuned with way less power.

And yes, Toe and Camber will help with under steer.

Try more negative toe on the front (this will help with the first part of your turn) Then go with a bit of negative camber, no more then -.5 to - 1 at first. Then tweak from there.

Not a problem anon. You want to tune the car to how it feels to you.

So if its understeering in the entrance do a bit of toe, if oversteer go positive toe. On the exit adjust for camber. And then in the middle of the corner adjust rebound stiffness. That will really help you in long corners.

Also adjust your tire pressure a bit. I rarely go below 27psi. Should help you heat the tires up faster and get optimal grip.

Also if you have some oversteering issues that the toe/camber cannot solve move your brakes forward, Try to avoid going more then 60% forward and lower them from 100% to about as low as 85%.
As a side note, I just put a tune on Doc after having him for a few hours stock. I'm now causing people to quit adventure mode in droves.

Sorry meant, understeering. moving your brakes forward will allow the nose to dive in first. Too much though and you'll spin the car.

Thanks so much for the advice anon. One thing I am not getting on the tuning screen is gearing. My car supposedly can go 190 mph but after around 165 it might as well be at top speed. I can't figure out how to increase acceleration using the gear ratios for the life of me

You want your gears lowered to what you are racing it for.

Don't have your last gear higher then it needs to be. Usually base it off of the class you are in. If you want your car fast around small tracks you are going to lose around long sprints.

You can save tunes so you can switch on the fly, but build it around that. I usually go with a longer first gear and then shorter gears after that, since you are rarely in first anyways, being slow off the start is better then being slow the whole race.

Analogs have the "mechanical" feeling of up/down but face buttons allow you to keep using other buttons which is better in arcade games with arcade nitrous implementations (NFS for example). Bumper buttons were better before Microsoft invented analog triggers.

But The Crew agrees with you so there must be some truth. In the end it's just personal preference, there are probably people raised with GT that play all their racing games with X and □.
