The MZR was pretty much the first generation of modern, economical, turbocharged petrol engines. And they have problems. Namely carbon build up for some people and other reliability issues.

The new Mazda engines are completely new and don't have this problem, including the turbo in the CX-9.

Way too many people have complaints from both the MZR and EcoBoost for me to trust anyone saying otherwise.
I especially don't want to trust it in a $500,000 car.

They tell me no one likes the GT because it is a massive pile of shit ranging from the electronics to engine. There is a reason that Ford hasn't released anything about the car and here is what I have been told by ford workers in Ford performance.

The speedo and RPM leds are slow as hell and it takes literal seconds for the RPM gauge to keep up
Since the engine bay is so small, the wiring harness falls on the exhaust causing it to melt to it and cause fire.
The 3.5tt under the hood has a constant loss in oil pressure causing the turbos to literally explode.
