Why did they stop making the Solara

It appeal to neither typical toyota costumers or auto enthusiasts

at the time people were in to 4D cars and the market was huge for them. But the trend is shifting back to the early 2000s and SUVs are back on top now.

2d coupes, unless mustang/camaro/porsche/challenger/bmw, the market is too small.

They've been making Accord coupes since 88 and they're still making them.

They stopped making the Accord hatchback though. Another one that should be brought back with the pop up headlights.

I knew they still made them I just phrased it poorly, I tried to suggest that maybe they replaced the solara with the accord coupe, didnt know they have been making them since 88 though.

Had no idea about the accord hatch though, looks like a wannabe 86. I kinda like it though

Because convertibles generally sell poorly especially if they're convertible econoboxes and not true sportscars. I think this anon >>16011496 said it best. Nobody wants to pay that much for a convertible Camry as the sales figures would indicate to Toyota that there's no point in continuing production.

They are different cars. The Solara is a Toyota and the Accord is a Honda.

The Solara is the Coupe version of the Camry. They're built on the same chassis, use the same engines(Depending on option I4 or V6).

The direct competitor to the Solara/Camry is the Prelude/Accord.

The Spiritual successor the Prelude is the V6 Accord coupe.

The SC already was a Lexus. Toyota-badged SC were called "Soarer" in the JDM.

Solara and Soarer/SC are completely different cars.

Fucking disgusting. It drives me crazy seeing so many of these ugly shits everyday, always 5 under the limit in the outer lanes and they look God awful as a convertible. This car just triggers me so hard.
