Wasted half of my life on my cars, bikes, and dreams of one day being a boat owning faggot

Spent my 20s living for my car, drag race every Wednesday,Friday coffee night with the local car club, Saturday night drag race or drive with the lads to the local track, i didn't race at buttonwillows but they did. Every pay check went to the car and my "hobbies" ended up being alone eventually and found another career which pays me even more now, have enough money for anything I want. See one of the guys in the nearby offices with a audi r8 and think to myself god i want one of them. Found some used R8 nearby, decided not to buy it.

Decided to save money senpai, I might just buy a house and settle down here permanently. I just don't know right now. I am one of the many Americans with a 9-5 job making nearly 6 figures sooon, and just don't know what to do anymore..

I drive a 2011 Hyundai Elantra Touring. Its only redeeming factors are the 5 speed manual and its storage capacity. The first through fourth gears are unbelievably short. You're in fifth gear by 35-40 mph, and pushing 3500rpm at 60mph. For a small 4cyl car produced in 2011 that's unacceptable for fuel economy.

I've never owned an Asian made vehicle brand or had any major urge to buy much from over there, the designs are all to fish like or have that kinda chincy look.

Saturn 1999 SL2 - first car
Ford 1990 Crown Vic - second hand me down car for winter.
Dodge 2004 Ram 2500, Got it for free in exchange for summer landscaping work.
Chrysler x2 1999 300M awesome till wreck, 2004 intrepid-which was the biggest piece of shit

And my current is a 2013 Passat, I'm
all about European luxury for the last few years. My next will hopefully be a Jaguar or maybe the new Continental.

Pretty sure you're just being humble. Or you have anxiety. If you get distracted and zone out but still have complete control of the car and don't drift into other lanes and shit, I'd consider that a skill. Not having any accidents could be high situational awareness, or you naturally drive defensively. I used to think I sucked at driving but I've had several not-at-fault close calls and avoided them by the skin of my teeth with sharp maneuvering. Never spun out after said maneuvers, or lost control in the winter, or curbed my car when hooning, or fishtailed by accident. Shit, I once drove most of a 55 mile commute while asleep. I literally woke up in my driveway and didn't know how I got home.

I've accepted that I'm no professional racer, but I'm pretty goddamn good at driving compared to the majority of people on the roads.

I hit a person once and ran.
Pretty sure they can't walk anymore, my bumper and hood were gone. Didnt drive the car for months after that...

I really appreciate your insight. I will get it checked after the next pay check.

I'm not sure where to find a proper mechanic. Of the two I have been to, one is cheap and quick, the other has guys that look like they don't want to be there. --I'm thinking about going to one I saw on yelp. Thoughts?

Yellow pages?

Talk to people you know, neighbours etc, find out where they get their car serviced.

I rear ended a truck in my corvette the other day. But it was only a love tap against his trailer hitch so no one cared.

Nope. the only time you spin tires in my shitbox is on ice or in mud. 0 to 60 in 16 seconds

i mean i have never really used that "pistol" thing at a petrol station, i always fill my fuel tank with fuel canister
>>

why would they not?

I never came across an empty enough highway again, or when I did I was in a slow car.

It's not a big deal, just somehting I realised recently.
>>
>>16020432
Why?

Using the bowser is so much easier.
>>
>>16020465
ehhhh, never had a chance to use it, father fills fuel tank pretty often by himself
>>
>>16020432

I'll really confused by this. Does your father fill the car and the fuel can himself every time? I figure you fill the gas can at the station as you would your car or is this some kind of weird national thing like bagged milk in Canada?

Also obligatory,

I have zero clue about fixing my car by myself.
All I can do is the bare minimum, which most of the time I don't even bother doing myself.

I only like cars cause driving is fun, also they look and sound nice a lot of them.

I want to own a Fiat 500 nuova one day, the old one

No, its because I avoid driving like the plague and do my best to get in the lane I need to be in and not have to change lanes ever and stuff. Like the couple times I have been on the interstate I stayed in the right most lane the whole way because lane changing scares me.
