Also how does someone even let a car get to this point, I've never had a car that I or anyone I know owned get this bad.

Shit paints flake off. Nothing new.

If its oxidation and not flaking you can wet sand and buff it out

Yeah you might be able to buff it out. If the car is stored outside check the interior for water damage from leaking T-tops. Look underneath for rust.
Probably worth 2 grand but it might need 2 grand in tires, tune up and clutch. For 4 grand can you get a better car that needs nothing? Maybe.

I'm terms of maintenance the seller wrote "it has 129000 miles, it is a fun car to drive, T-Tops, many new parts, radiator, hoses , battery, Filters, speakers, fuzes, plug ect", which doesn't make me feel confident in dropping almost $3k in it. I have no idea why it would need a new radiator without something having died in the engine.

Radiators can go bad, especially if they're Iron. But all those parts are cheap. A good set of tires costs more than all that combined.

That looks good but man I really wanted a 2+2 model. I doubt it's worth spending that much extra on but the one low mileage example I can find in five speed is $15k and auto is $8k.

Eventually painted the 240 (whole job done for $80 - tractor enamel with automovite metallic, all prep/body done by me, paint sprayed by a friend.), Pic related, which it was purple, the light made it look pink, will post 2 more pics lol

The teg has done fine, I've done about 70% of the body work so far, waiting to get some more suspension stuff sorted before I finish the body up and paint it.

No rust issues so far.
