I think I'm going to have to take them back

They wouldn't charge properly, and I had to force the pole clamps open to make them fit over the poles of the new battery, as they seem to be a lot bigger than the previous ones

I think the poles are also made of some shitty lead that cant take cold, as they make a sickly cracking noise when I try to tighten the clamps

Also getting absolutely no power, but that might be because I'm not able to charge them

Second day of owning my new car.

Replaced stock incandescent interior lights with LEDs that are actually functional. Applied Rain-X to windshield. Made a checklist of things that need to be fixed or replaced that I didn't catch during my short time with the car before buying it.

Needs at least one motor mount and a valve cover gasket replacement. Both are jobs well within my abilities so I'm not too upset. Also the rear cargo lights most useful function(turning on when I open the hatch) has a short in it. Need to replace that since I'll be using it.

Finally rattle canned the rear trim panel on my 03 explorer. Thing is notorious for cracking. I had it replaced 3 years ago, it was bare plastic so i rattle canned it black. No prep work so it started chipping in some spots. Decided to do it right, sanded, primered, sanded and some color match base coat. Clear and wet sand and more clear. Turned out decent. Now I just got to do a tune up, struts and springs all around, brakes and some new tires. Should be ready for winter

Not sure why I'm posting/complaining about this but figured I might as well. Things are actually going really good i just need to complain about some things

I'm essentially an underpaid network security engineer, work in the cyber security industry and for the work I do and how dedicated I am to my job and career I would expect more from this company but so far they are going to have to pay me more senpai. I am not making shit working for this company...

The pros far out-way the cons right now

Pros. - Lead engineer, one of the best engineers on staff. Get treated very well by staff, and most people/coworkers look up to me. Have staff in numerous countries and a couple of US states and my coworkers/people under me respect me a lot and always say they want to learn from me, instead of me "fixing" stuff for them they want to learn from me. I have done everything from training sessions with my own coworkers in my dept/state. and other training sessions in Europe, Asia, and Canada. Things are really good right now, but the workload is mind numbing and I am pretty much busy all week for months now. There are also a lot of changes going on in our dept, and I am the main engineer working on a dozen or so clients and it is fucking hard to manage everything when you don't have a secretary, or someone you work directly with. I don't even do hiring/interviews anymore I am strictly working on analyzing threats, new systems, configurations, conference calls etc..
>>
>>16000886
Cons:
The pay is absolute shit and they have "mentioned" salary increasing are coming up by December. I am strongly fucking considering just asking for a higher salary and if they don't pay up well than I'll actually have to talk to another company than. I've had requests for interviews, and job offers come directly to me from competing companies in my area but I have denied all of them so far, I am going to be busy all the way until 2018 so far my project book is fucking full and I will have a stable job until than...' Company can't afford to lose me, but they only pay 60k the most and thats before taxes!!!

Not drinking or high tonight, but I want to be to be honest, right before leaving work today for my "weekend" I get hit up for some additional changes we are discussing/implementing next week...

Inb4 take a vacation and clear your mind, senpai I already did

Nice trips. The Continental plant in South Carolina has a tremendous scrap and defect rate due to their pig-ignorant workforce. They got so desperate they placed a million dollars worth of scrap tire components on the factory floor to illustrate the point, but their workforce would turn Buddha into a bigot so it didn't help.

Subaru built their early EJ-series engines with paper head gaskets to cut costs. It wasn't until their original EJs hit 200,000 miles and burnt oil constantly that they realized they had to switch to aluminum gaskets

>>
>>16004359
the EJ25's have Head gasket issues.

The EJ22 has valve cover gasket issues.

The latter isn't that big of a problem. It's actually not even the valve gasket that's the problem. Just the rubber gasket for the spark plug. My car has the phase 2 ej22 engine which has the park plugs mounted through the valve cover. The gasket gets heated and cooled continuously as well as soaked in oil. Naturally the gasket goes bad over time. All I have is some oil leaking into the spark plug well which isn't a huge problem. It takes 30$, an hour of labor, and little mechanical knowledge to fix it.
