I mentioned the Kuga (Escape) in my post. The Subaru drivetrain is awesome, but I understand FWD is cheaper. (Also neat thing about the Subaru is that a big 'ol Forester weighs 3400lbs, less than most of the FWD-only compact CUVs like the RAV4, CR-V, and Escape)

My concern is paying for AWD and losing the weight savings and mileage and not getting anything out of it.

Honda basically said they put a tiny differential in the rear and if all power was sent it would blow up the dif so it just sits there front wheels spinning since the computer won't allow the rears to spin because it would be "too much".

The thing is powered by a N/A 4 banger.... what did they put in the rear? A lawn mower dif?
