OP here, been out looking at C5 corvettes and the market is absolutely bonkers in the worst way.

Anything that is "turnkey" is overpriced to account for boomers who just want a running driving car

Anything that is "cheap" ($10k or less) the owners "know what they got," "could EASILY post this on ebay and get $15k so don't lowball me" and absolutely refuse to move from their prices which tend to be $1k-1.5k higher than they should be.

The one exception has been a really cool black guy who admitted the radiator support bracket on his was fucked from hitting a speed hump in a church parking lot and he took me to a shop with a lift to let me see the underneath of the car. Guy would take $7k for it but at this point I'm not even sure I want a C5 anymore.
