Why shouldn't I buy a used WRX with 150k miles on it?

This is honestly really embarassing
get a proper impreza or get a completely different car

Head gaskets

kinda reeks "tryhard who thinks he's fast", have fun getting beat by that Golf who revved at the light.

probably already blew, so they're shiny and new
It's better to buy a car that's been driven and maintained than a car that sat in a garage for all but the weekends.

but nah yer do it OP, nice cars!

Was also wondering this OP.
Have around 6k usd for a used car, not sure what to get but would love an impreza.

What makes a less sporty looking version of a car appear more tryhard?

There's a decent chance it'll spin a bearing in the next 10000 miles depending on how hard it was driven and how well it was maintained. The transmission is also hot garbage in every single way.

OP here
What if I just want an honest road tripping machine that me and the GF can sleep in at rest stops, but actually has enough power to get out of its own way?
I have an Outback wagon already, but it's dreadfully slow and nobody's selling H6s or XTs in my area.
