Well again, I'm not very invested in politics because I grew up very detached from them thanks to my dad and living in a really, really rural area. I don't think guns should be controlled for the general public, maybe controlled for criminals or mentally ill or something but not for a regular citizen. I think legalizing marijuana is fine. People can make money off of it and it would stop normal people from getting jail sentences for something that really doesn't matter much. I don't care really about pot and I don't smoke it. I could care less about gender crap, I legitimately dislike almost all trans people and hate people who claim to be "non binary" or gender neutral or a tree or whatever.

I remember when I was in high school and the sided with the Democrats because all I had to worry about are social issues.

These days now that I'm a little older and have real issues to deal with in life, I vote bases on different issues. Like having a functioning economy that won't try and take 90% of my paycheck.

It sucks that they're somewhat backwards on social issues, but there are more important things to fix right now. If we can get jobs back in this country, maybe we can offer them to some of these dindus and spend tax money on shit that matters like paying teachers.

I hate arguing politics because nobody will ever change their mind. Maybe more people need to move from a blue state to a historically red state and see how much easier shit is when you don't have to ask Big Brother how many shekels he needs every time you step out the front door. Not that I think or want texes to completely go away, but I would like to see it spent on something that matters, cut the waste, and let me have more of my income to keep and spend on businesses so people have jobs.

I don't really disagree with anything you've said but in my opinion we will have a much more stable economy under Clinton. I hate that I have to say that, that Clinton is the better choice, but there's a reason why most economists and bankers endorse Clinton. Trump's tax plan will mostly benefit the top 1% and his ideas about starting a trade war with China and Mexico will only hurt the middle class.

The teachers in one of the cities here just decided to go on strike next week...apparently they're not happy with summers off, 20 paid sick days, paying for 16% of their health insurance, a raise nearly double the rate of inflation and an individual median yearly salary $10,000 more than the median household income for the city they work in. IIRC, the average teacher in that union makes about $70k/year.

Honestly, outside of the presidential stuff, I'm going to be voting republican all the way down the ballot this year. I really don't care if someones kid can't read when they graduate high school, I just want to be able to afford food for the week.
