alright, i want to buy a cheap (2-3k USD) sporty manual rwd car and im stuck currently between a miata/240sx and a third gen/foxbody

the real question is: handling or power? which is more fun? im planning on welding the diff whichever way i go for #fun

Miata will feel awesome around the corners, light, and spirited. But on the highways it'll feel like your driving a Geo. About the same would go for the 240sx maybe a little heavier and faster on straights.

A turd gen will give lots of V8 feels. Fun in the sense of tons of body roll in corners, every turn is a gamble with death. Plenty of noise, the smell of fumes, and drowning in pussy. Not necessarily fast but it feels like it and both have plenty of aftermarket to become fast in straight lines in the future.

Jokes aside I've heard good things about welding the diff in a turd gen and it will surprisingly drift pretty well for you.

Foxbody is the way to go if you want bolt on power. Bolt on parts from an explorer motor and you get effortless gainz

88 California and 89-93 fox are mass air. Not only do they compensate well with mods, but once you pass its limits you simply plug in a twEECer RT or moates quarter horse into the ecu and reprogram with your laptop.

Good luck finding one that's not rusted through or beat to shit.
