What's your daily ritual before you drive your car?

In the morning:

You should sit at most 10 seconds to build oil pressure. Driving sooner puts a load on the engine and heats it faster. Just don't rev the nuts off of it until it's warm. You're actually hurting the car more by having it run for so long while cold.

I just get in and go. If something is wrong that I would've seen on a walk around it will be pretty obvious in the first few feet of driving.

I drive an old volvo 240, it has a leaking fuel check valve so the fuel line drains back to the tank after sitting overnight, having the ignition on for a few secs gives the fuelpump enough time to reach proper fuel pressure.
