Is the Netherlands the most /o/-unfriendly KANKER country?

>THE highest gasoline prices in Europe (Diesel not far behind)
>Additional road taxing
>Taxing is based on weight (heavier costs more)
>more efficient fuel is taxed higher, so you're fucked either way
>EU old-timer tax exemption rule (25y) got overturned for a higher age requirement (40 years)
>between 25-40y you can get a tax-advantage, but you can't drive your car for 3 months a year
>some weird autodealer practice only found in the Netherlands where autodealers charge you an additional 300-500 euros for a "final check-up")
>ridiculously high speeding fines (10km/h too fast is 41 euro, 20hm/h is 141 euro)
>You can't drive in any big city with a gasoline car older than 1992 or a diesel car older than 2003. YOU CANT ENTER THE CITY OR GET FINED OUT OF THE ASS
>highways always cramped as fuck

Seriously the worst of the worst, is there any country that comes even close to being this KANKER?

And now it's being imported. Thanks, bruh.
>Paris has banned vehicules older than 20 years during weekdays
>plan on expanding the restriction
As if living in or arround Paris wasn't expensive enough, now you can't do it if you have an older car (read : the only car you can afford if you live there in the first place and don't work in a bank or something like that)

Nobody wants to live there.
But that's where all the jobs are.
Which really is why parisians are such miserable people that try to make others as miserable as they are.

All EU countries have turbo kanker laws regarding cars.
Some are worse than others, but rest assured all are shit.
>>
Netherlands is much smaller than a country like USA though, you can quickly go anywhere by train (assuming they have good railroad system). That doesn't justify it, I just mean it's not gonna fall apart without cars.
>>
how do people live with these stupid draconian laws?
>>
>>15971976
Bikes, trains and buses, and a 1.0l cuckbox if you really need a car.

Or a hybrid, because those get tax discounts.
>>
>>15971225
Valid points. However:

>inspections aren't nearly as strict as some other places (looking at you Germoney)
>insurance is reasonable
>used car prices are surprisingly low considering the massive tax on new cars
>bike-related infrastructure actually works, though there's always still a small percentage of morons
>>
>>15971976
it makes european people feel cozy to live under bureaucratic governments with iron grips
>>
>>15971976
Easy.

We are tought that those laws are necessary, and there to protect us.

The more laws you have the more progressive your county is.
>>

They made 1st gen Twingos until '07, and they can be found for literally a few hundred eurobucks.

No hybrid/electric tax discounts, but they weigh fuckall so there's fuckall tax on them anyway.

>terrible urban planning making our roads dense and unsafe (housesas well as tons of intersections and driveways without lights along heavily-trafficked main roads causing traffic going 50+ km/h to come to a complete stop to allow on asshole to turn left into his driveway or street in the middle of rush hour, structures/plants/ornaments/parking spaces/etc. built or placed too close to street corners so you can't see anything more than 10 feet in either direction forcing drivers to take leaps of faith when merging out, lanes abruptly ending sometimes without notice, roads that should've been 4 or more lane divided freeways being two lanes with intersections causing avoidable head on collisions, etc)
>draconian speed limits that no one obeys anyway which we can't justify raising cause our roads are unsafe at the speeds we've posted already since they were built so poorly

I could go on
>>
>>15972302
Excluding Toronto, London is probably worst built, most dangerously designed city in the country with Windsor being a close second, though the latter has to do with the awkward geography as well as Matty Moroun's greed and general assholishness.
>>
>>15972302
>>15972321
I've lived in Mississauga, Montreal and Ottawa. Montreal and Gatineau are a fucking wreck. It doesn't even make sense how you could construct such a shit city. Toronto is fucked with Traffic. Ottawa has shit roads, but not ad bad as Quebec.

I need to move to Texas.

Want to do an engine swap?

Nope.

It's a religion.

>implying the very first organized religions weren't based around god kings instead of incorporeal gods
>implying the god king/holy state isn't the default and natural human religion, backed by invisible wizards or not
>implying most of humanity does not default to following the state, king, or chief, as the unquestionable source of moral right

People who question law and view at as anything but "right" are a distinct minority, mostly made up of intelligent holy men who have no god and no law but God and God's law, autists with good immunity against social conditioning, and the people who actually make the laws.

Don't forget the kanker BPM.

BPM is added tax on CO2 emissions. The more CO2 the car emits, the higher the BPM tax.

Example: Subaru WRX STI:
base price € 37.489.
Taxes:€ 7.873
BPM € 45.633
Total:€ 90.995.

More than 50% is BPM, WHAT THE FUCK.

You aren't allowed to buy fun powerful cars. Any car with an engine more than 2.0L becomes unaffordable because of this shit.

>>
Stop complaining faggot, as >>15972006 said there are also upsides compared to other countries. Easy as fuck inspection, mods/engine swaps are allowed with no hassle, cheap insurance, great roads. You get fucked buying a new car, but the second hand market is pretty good. Or you can always import one from Germany.

>>15974733
This is one off, I don't know why this is retardedly expensive but for example the A45 AMG is "only" 15% more expensive in Germany

+ one of cheapest gas prices in Europe (1,2$ for Pb98
+ cheap parts and fixing
+ most of the cars are cheap to buy (expect old american landbarges)
+ no problems with old cars in big cities etc. (30yo Diesel who burns 50:50 gas and oil? sure bro)
+ cheap tax ( 120$ yearly for car inspection and insurance for my 20yo shitbox)
+ developing new roads with good tarmac
+ cheap fines (120$ for exceeding the speed limit for 50kmh outside the city)

- As I said, buying old Japan and American cars is difficult (you can always search in neighboring countries)

I just realized how great it is to be slav :^)
>>
>>15974887
Too bad you can't buy anything other than a shitbox when you only make 500 euros a month
>>
>>15974884

im driving way above the speed limit every single day. had my license since 2007, never seen, been through or even heard about a single speed control.

been through two DUI checkpoints. never not once even seen a speeding control.

once you get past the peugots, norway is a big rally track.

>You can't drive in any big city with a gasoline car older than 1992 or a diesel car older than 2003. YOU CANT ENTER THE CITY OR GET FINED OUT OF THE ASS
So how do they enforce that? Do they have checkpoints going into the city?

How about if you drive a 1990 model but it was made until 96 and you say yours is a 96?
>>
>>15974892
Depends on your needs, if someone need 3yo car and change it every 2 years, it's pain in the ass. I'm quite happy, because for 3-4kE I can find many cars that suit me (Mx-5, Mr2, E36 2,5, supra mk3, p10 GT)

Dutch fiscal lawyer here.

Registration tax on vehicles is an autonomous competence of any EU member state.

In NL good for 2ish billion tax income a year.

The European Commission desires that no member states have a registration tax such as BPM. But seven countries DK, NL, POL, FIN and some other small countries still have registration tax.

Our secretary of finance (Wiebes) wants to keep BPM.

Bottom line: If you want fun allowed, you should move because I give you little chance of getting the law changed via politics.
>>
>>15971753
The countries taht dont have bad laws are mostly poor as fuck, and on the road to EU they start to change the rules while still having a piss poor standard

literal cancer

>But that's where all the jobs are.

How do the CEOs get to work?

Best company I ever worked for: The CEO drove a cheap car, parked in the next available space and asked for no special privileges. Just like all the employees. But he said if anyone makes his life or commute shit, he's moving the company to the next town.
>>
>>15975750
>How do the CEOs get to work?
A lot of them live inside Paris, OR furether in the rich peripherical areas.
CEO of small companies and tiny businesses might use the subway like everybody else.
Otherwise, there are a lot of taxis only they could afford, there are some chauffeur services, and Uber implated itself very sucessfuly in Paris.
>>
>>15975750
(cont. because I'm a retard)
Not to mention when it comes to the largest companies, a lot of them have their offices in La Défense, a sort of CBD that is not technically inside Paris itself but is still easily reached with subway or other public transportation.
