The Multi-Air is a great engine, but I couldn't enjoy the lag, I'd take the ND all day long, hell I'd even give the 1.5L a shot if it was sold here.

And before you start, I don't give two shits about the 'potential' and your $X00 "tune" that's a piggyback box changing the boost sensor reading. I've spent some time in a car like that and while it's great bang for your buck it gets in the way of 'muh feels.

This is an old debate. I've heard, before the ND came out, a lot of opinions that the Miata is funner as a daily driver. You really have to wring it out of an S2000 to go fast.

I've only ever driven a Miata though so I don't know. OP you should test drive an S2000. Find one you're interested in buying and tell the guy you want to know how it compares, he'll probably take you for a spin or let you drive it if you're actually serious about buying it.

At a higher cost, sure. The best thing about an S2k is how good it is stock or with just mild modifications, it takes a fair amount of work, $$$, and compromise to get more out of it's suspension or powertrain.

A Miata is a set of springs, dampers, fresh bushings, tires, and alignment away from hanging with even the best setup S2k in the corners, typically for a fraction of the price.

I know the F20 takes to boost well, but that's just not on my radar, and likely the same for 99% of the people reading this who aren't benchracing circlejerkers.

It's an engineering masterpiece and a small sliver in what honda doesn't do any more - make sports cars. It is the purest example of a car that will be beyond amazing in 20-30 years. The car has timeless style; hits the two seated roadster look perfectly.

Personally, I do not care if this car loses all value. I threw all practicality out the window buying it and paid a little premium to get dat laguna blue pearl with 69,xxx miles. I will never sell this car. Ever. It will be driven until the day that I die.

What the S2000 has going for it is that it still has a bit of 9 0 s a s t h e t i c and sharpness to it.
And it seems to hold its value really well thanks to those nostalgiafags. But you'll be spending money maintaining it, instead of losing it to depreciation.

But other than that, the ND is a better car in every way. It's factory tune is soft, which some say adds to the fun, so you have to replace that if you want a similar sharpness and harsher ride like the S2000, but other than that it's a faster car, better handling car, better engineered car, has a nicer interior, is lighter weight, has better aftermarket support - everything.

But if you really want to cuck S2000 owners, get an FD. For the same price you get a way faster, grippier, and stiffer car. All they have going for them is that the top goes down and their silly digital dash that the Cosmo does better 10 years earlier.

I bought my 07 S2000 more than a year ago and it's my DD. The handling is top fucking notch if you do lots of tracking and spirited canyon runs. Daily driving is bad because I get 18mpg and i dont even hit VTEC and the tank lasts 220 miles when light comes on. No fun in daily commute whatsoever.
The ND miata gets about 40mpg when you drive normally. Sure it has body rolls but that can be corrected with suspension upgrades later.
Daily commute with ND is better since you get to drive more at its limit.
I dont like the look of the ND but i think ill trade my S2K in later to get the ND.
