my mr2 is currently undergoing surgery

Today I noticed an AW-11 and an MR-S with 3S-GTE swaps on sale. Is that even a good idea? It's great craftsmanship of course, but muh weight distribution, especially for the MR-S when you can just 2zz.

How's working on a MR2? Thinking about a 2nd or 3rd gen, but the engine bay looks like a nightmare. Like a FWD car but worse because it's smaller

Ive had a turbo and NA mk2.
Obviously turbo is more difficult.
NA isnt too bad. Mk1 is super easy
Mk3 is about the same as mk2 NA.
All in all not that bad if youre patient.

desu, I'm about to get a job even though I'm busy as fuck with college so I can buy a Fiero. I like this one, doesn't look to rough from the pics and if it started before I should be able to get it running again. It'd just be more of a summer project car and we're about to go into winter.

Well, confirmed 4 for $1800 and possibly two others for a total of 6. Makes me wish I had the space and cash for that. I'm asking about the silver one specifically. That's the only pic he has. Sounds like the only thing needing replacing is the alternator though I'll probably have to replace all the fluids and lines before gassing her up to see if she'll run. Then find out from there if the tranny is good or completely fucked.

Assuming the car is in otherwise good condition, does it sound like a good deal for $800? I might go bug some friends for money they still owe me. Could have it in cash within a week or two.

REAL racing does not give a fuck when your MR2 is slower than a porsche. because it's only racing against comparable vehicles, where whether or not it is slower only becomes evident when all drivers are equal.

when people complain about cars not being fast enough, street racing is the first thing that comes to mind. nobody here races at a skill leve high enough to make tiny differences between similar cars matter.

Depending on year, oil level. Dipstick was marked wrong for 84's. You can get one that is marked right though. Otherwise it's mostly just stuff that you would expect with a mid-engine vehicle, such as how you refill oil and coolant.

I just Fijumi back, more than anything. I know that course pretty damn well. I can pull in an 8:25 in lower end S Class most of the time. So mastering it properly in 6 would be good.

I could even get a new head gasket for it for like $1500 and it would be less than a regular turbo. I could even change the head gasket myself if I really wanted to.
I don't really care about paint.
Is there any reason not to if I can afford to get it fixed?
I'm only worried that I would ha E to drive it a few hours home, and I'm not sure if it could handle that. If I baby it home it would probably be okay, right?

Forza 4 is the defacto best game in the series after they dropped Fujimi Kaido and every other JP track. Tsukuba and Suzuka circuit were fucking great for figuring new tuning setups.
