Not the guy you're replying to. But I'm a huge DMC-12 fan. I think aesthetically it is perfect, but take your rose-tinted goggles off. It's not a great car performance-wise, and it is known for not being a fast car.
There's a reason why, despite its cult status as one of the most famous rides in the history of automobiles, it's still relatively cheap; it performs poorly, is unreliable and is hell on earth to maintain.
I'd still take a Delorean over any other car, given the opportunity but it's not a flawless perfect car.

It just was not good.
It's okay to like a car despite its flaws but you can't deny that its heavy body was hidering its performance severely, you can't deny that it keeps breaking down because the factories were not exactly top-notch.
