If /o/ had to get a truck what would they get? pic related its mine
Fiat Fullback
Wagoneer or j80
chevy s10
The new F150 with EcoBoost
06 silverado with a 5.3
That yr did have rust issues like the early 2000s.
And it also didnt have the gauge cluster issues of the 04 and 05 model yr. Plus if you get a extanded cab Z71 you can get a L33 aluminum/sleeved block.
nissan hard body
>>15963559
First choice: 2010 silverado extended cab with a 5.3
If I stay in Florida it would be rwd
chebby with 5.3 and lsd
old ford with 4.9 or 5.0 and lsd
might even consider dodge with 5.9 and lsd
pretty much anything with a cheap pushrod engine and an lsd.
I'd just spend a bunch of money on a drivetrain swap/suspension upgrade to turn Daddy's 1500 into a rock crawler

why are used trucks so expensive
why do people with 150k miles on a 10+ year old truck want half the original MSRP?
>>15963559
2015 F150 5.0
>>15963683
Because people will pay it. If everyone stopped (they won't) it would drive the prices down.
>>15963698
This. It really boggles my mind what people will pay for a truck (and vehicles in general твн). More so with trucks that have 4x4
>>15963743
Also, the ones that sell cheap sell fast.
>>15963743
I paid $8k for my 2002 Seirra 2500HD back in 2013
Could probably sell it for $4-5k with 180k miles on it now.
>>15963559
GMC Canyon with the 2.6L Duramax.
muh nostalgia
I want a long bed standard cab, 4x4, manual and a v8 that makes over 300hp
>>15963559
Regular cab, long bed, V8, 2wd, automagic trans. Anything 2000 or later depending how much money I have to spend. GM preferred but Ford is good too.
>>15963675
yup
>>15963559
Not a chevy
>>15963559
naturally in yellow, maybe with a white topper
Ram Power Wagon
>>15963743
4x4 trucks depreciate very slowly.
I have a 2009 ranger with almost 180k on it, and it's the XL (work truck, so only am/fm radio, crank windows manual locks, only interior amenity is a/c), and kbb says it's worth $5000.

>>15963774
farthest thing from a truck guy but this image is bad ass, cool truck bro
>>15963607
I had a 98 up until 2012. Manual and it worked alright.
i've always wanted to drive a shitty old gmt400 in w/t trim
>>15968185
A crew cab of that would be ideal.
Nissan patrol 4.8
>>15968320
Either SGL, TI, or VTC model. (with tb48de)
A small 90s toyota pickup
>if i could get any truck i'd get a 20 year old shit heap
no u wouldnt u would get a new truck like anyone with half a brain would get.
>what would i get
17 cummins laramie stick shift
nissan patrol y60 crew cab
>>15968388
Why would you choose the lesser transmission?
>>15968320
>>15968335
>>15968397
>>15965729
You are a wonderful person, I have been looking for one and its a difficult combo unless you want a Nissan hard body or Toyota pickup with the 22re. But that makes nowhere near 300hp. I found a 99 5.9 cummins that fit that description but the dude wanted 20k and it was a rusty pile
Probably another '90 Cheyenne. All manual everything and a tool/storage box.
Grab up a square body before they're gone. For some reason the prices keep climbing like crazy. Gonna be keeping mine for a while.
Probly gonna be keeping it for a while.
one i just brought
I hate trucks but if I had to get one, Id get a TRD Tacoma in blue.
Shame these are expensive as fuck.
>>15968865
>>15968879
Because they are the sexiest.
If I have a dream truck? Probably a 2500 Denali. Then a '70 F150 as a project or weekend truck.
And then a good 'ol mudder squarebody truck.
I can't decide. I'm too redneck.
late 90's dodge Cummins long wheel base single cab
How about the one I already bought?
the one I own.
>if I had a smaller budget and I needed something or wheeling
I really want an early 90's 4.0l V6 5 speed 4wd RCSB ford ranger. if I had to get a truck to drive every day and drive distances, I would get op's pic related.
>>15968412
I found 2 in my area but one has the hemi with 178k miles on it and a big dent on the door/cab and the other is a Silverado with 80k miles but want $15k
>>15963559
Only an extended cab manuél 4x4 w/ diff lockers, of course.
>>15969922
This is the only correct answer.
>>15963559
This one isn't mine, but I own the exact same model.
If I were to get something newer it'd be a long box 4x4 auto. Ford 5.0 or Chevy 5.3
But if you're dailying a truck, 4x4 is overrated unless you live somewhere where it snows terribly.
Ideally if I could have any truck, it'd be a mint 12v 2nd gen Cummins extended cab long bed single rear wheel.
Otherwise, I'll keep my 06 LBZ Duramax.
>>15965687
this.
nothing can compete
>>15969896
hey anon
i like your truck.
i want one of those, but in lariat trim in white or green.
>>15970785

>>15972157
welcome to the world of american pickups. they have a lot of steel to line up.
This or import an older Hilux
5.9 cummins a best
>>15972307
>5.9 cummins a best
Nothing but rich railroader brodozers drive those around here
>>15972317
around here they drive lifted f150's or raptors.
>>15972167
>steel
>>15972307
I would give a nut for a RCLB first gen 5 speed 12v.
>>15963559
If full-size, I would get the F150. It's the best in its class right now.
If mid-size, I would get the Tacoma.
>>15972404
>please believe our ads
no lie, I don't want an aluminum bed. aluminum body for the truck is tight though
>>15972422
>>please believe our ads
?
>>15972438
it was a meme over the aluminum bed from the stupid ass chevy ads.
>>15972452
Oh.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fVSdA1rYKE
>>15972535
I think they meant the bed, not the door skins.
why would you want thick ass door skins?
that being said, I have steel in my truck and it makes me happy. my truck and my buddy's civic got hailed on. his roof and hood were fucked, my truck wasn't scathed at all.
hilux or hard body if new.
if older probably a mighty max, datsun truck or an older hilux.
I would get this bad bitch. Over and over.
prob an early 60's f100 with a v6 ecoboost and 9"
that'd be sweet.
>>15973546
>tfw no ecoboost
I would in a heartbeat if I could afford it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lCY6T-tg7c
>>15973574
I'd even do a 4cyl ecotec or something if I didn't need to tow.
always wanted a 60s ford that gets like 30mpg.
>>15973586
at that point you'd be better off with a 4bt or a 12v. ecotec is literally a shit.
I already daily a ram 1500,
But I'd either go for a Vw rabbit pickup diesel to save fuel driving to work.
Or a 1G Ram 250 4x4 with the 5.9 Cummins. Top trim level.
>>15973627
>Forgot pic
>>15973596
yeah 4bt would be awesome actually. you could tow 4k lbs pretty easily id think.
I have a 2000 Silverado regular cab with a 5.3 and occasionally drive my late brother's 2002 sierra crew cab with the 5.8 engine.
I prefer mine of course, only use his when i need to tow a bigger trailer or haul more people around
>>15972411
>long bed
Exactly what I did buy, square body dodge
>>15975255
Only one answer for this one reason
>>15975222
>not wanting a long bed on a full size truck
95-97 ranger or an Isuzu hombre just because
>>15975222
Long Bed > Short Bed
especially on a half ton.
>>15964119
This
>nu GM a shit
Yeah yeah I know. But it's a comfy truck, and I could really go for a half ton pickup with an extended bed because my old Dakota can't fit all my shit in it's bed for deliveries.
Either this or a Ford.
>>15976435
wew thats clean.

just got this a month ago for $6K,2006 4x4 with 190K,added the mirrors and rims for my own personal touch/
>>15963559
GMT400 like I have or GM square body
>>15969118

which other platforms are good for dropping and racing steelies
Hey OP, this is what I've got. 87' Shortbed Comanche.
>>15978812
But if I had to get a fullsize, this is what I'd want. In fact, this is originally what I wanted to buy, but the southeast is horribly devoid of the AMC variety pickup truck Jeeps.
>>15978235

Ill admit i am biased. I had a 98 Ram as my very first vehicle and it grew on me. Had a 9 inch lift on it, a pretty good sound system, one of those full faced steel push bars and a light bar sitting on 35 inch thornbirds with a genuine 15 inch rim, I hate anything above 16.
So... Yeah. Ram
The one I bought; lb7 shakemobile
Any older c10 with a 350 in it possibly a 454
