I just came into some money and was wanting to build a kit car, most likely a lancia stratos, how hard are kit cars to build and what skills do I need, I've worked at a shop for about 8 years. Also kit car general.
If you're asking on a Chinese cartoon picture website it's beyond your skill set.
If I take a car apart and give you back all the pieces and a haynes manual, can you reassemble it?
It really depends on the kit. THe better known the kit, the easier it will be
>Caterham and other Lotus 7 clones
accessible to anyone with time on their hand, patience, and a good toolbox
>enhanced bodykits (see most Beetle kits, 2cv Burton, a lot of hot rod kits, etc)
Not too hard to do, but expect to go fishing for parts all the time
>car available in kit only
will violently murder your wallet and might be needlessly complicated to put together depending on how retarded the designer was
>mashup kits (the case for a lot of replica kits)
to hell and back
sometimes getting the proper chassis, engine and the kit ends up as costly as the car it replicates

It would be extremely time consuming

For you
Space time and money

So an empty garage and an hour a night or so for a year?
>>15957641
It would be an hour a night kinda thing or more.

You're a big guy.

Building one from new parts would be way easier than taking apart a 20 year old rust seized car

Probably more.
Assembling a Caterham is ~300h, and they are pretty simple as far as ikeamobiles go
