Since dealerships have 2017 models coming in, how much of a discount can I expect to squeeze out if I look for an unsold 2016? You don't suppose there might still be 2015 models lying around, do you?

Depends on the vehicle. My dad got like 12k (around 20%) off of a year old 2500 Dodge Ram, and when I bought a year old motorcycle model I only got like 10% off.

what manufacturer and vehicle?

at my dealership, 2016 Camry's were still selling at $2,000 back of invoice when we had 2017's on the lot at the same time, and 2017's were $1,500 back of invoice.

Tacoma's? $2,000 back of invoice for 2016 (we have 1 more) and $1,000 back of invoice for 2017's.

it depends on the vehicle, the manufacturer and the dealership, honestly.

we had people wanting to buy a 2016 Camry at like $16,000 out the door "because 17's are out" and fuck you, that's not happening.

Ford Mustang
>>
>>15955001
Buy a civic for 3k instead and save the rest.
>>
>>15955088
>mom, I posted the meme again
>>
>>15955073

i don't know anything about Ford's pricing structures or how much they discount the Mustang, but honestly I imagine that it would be quite a lot because they build 86 fucking billion of them.

i imagine that it is somewhat similar to the Chevrolet Impala and Chevrolet Silverado. Chevy discounts the ever living fuck out of them and late model trade ins have absolutely horrible value.
>>
>>15955094
But it's good advice.
>>
>>15955109
Cool, I plan to own the car forever. What other manufactures price their late models aggressively?
>>
Any salesman would never give ip hundreds of dollars in commission because a car is a year or two old
>>
>>15955141
Then he's giving up a sale. My sale at least.
>>
>>15955128
If you plan to keep it forever just pay 8k for a v6 accord and fix whatever breaks.
>>
>>15955001
It depends on the time of month and a bunch of other stuff you don't/can't/won't know about.
Buying new is for chumps anyway. Just get a gently used c6 and stop being gay about everything.
>>
>>15955165
>looking for a mustang
>recommends an accord
The fuck are you doing?
>>
>>15955128

Hyundai, Kia, Honda, I imagine that all of them would. Honda less than Hyundai and Kia, but likely matched with Toyota.

My dealership is fairly aggressive with pricing for our area. 2017 Camry's and Corolla's are already at $2,000 back of Dealer Invoice.

Ford and Chevy seem to just discount almost all of their vehicles like crazy, but I'm not sure what the numbers actually look like.

>>15955141

do you even know how dealership's Internet Sales Departments work?
>>
>>15955001
Waaaay too much ink on that bitch
>>
>>15955187
I don't like face or finger tattoos, inked everywhere else is just how I like them.
>>
>>15955174

this Anon is correct.

buying on the last day of the month is almost always a good idea. dealerships are more likely to just sell a car, banks/credit unions/loaners are more likely approve you if you have shit credit/income.

you still can't go crazy with discounts. most brands barely make money off of their new cars.

the 2017 Toyota 86 has less than $1,000 between MSRP and Dealer Invoice. the Dealer Holdback is really small. there's just not much in them.
>>
I'm paying cash, so I'm sure they'll love me.
>>
>>15955254
No they'll hate you. They make money on financing.
>>
>>15955266
But I won't tell them :>
>>
>>15955207
>not much in it for the dealer
>dealer operates in a multi-million dollar building and has acres and acres of lot space filled with new cars
>but they don't make much money
>>
>>15955175
V6 Accord vs V6 Mustang
207 kW - 224 kW
FWD - RWD
252 ft-lb - 280 ft-lb
3,193 lbs - 3,520 lbs
27/36 mpg - 22/31 mpg

Close match. Too tough to call. The Accord handles better, but the Mustang has more power for the straights.
The Accord is cheaper to insure and maintain, and can be used as a family hauler.
The Mustang is more likely to get a girl in your car, and it holds more value.
>>
>>15955284
I don't think V6 was specified anywhere.

Why would you buy any car from ~2006 onward? They are basically all shit, regulations fucked the industry up the bootyhole starting around 2000. I will stick to this until those cars from '90 and below all clunk out, then do the same for the 00's and so forth until we all die in nuclear hellfire and only Hiluxes are left; the eternal truck.

23% off ~$60,000 MSRP. Lexus GS350 AWD

When I was aggressively shopping for this car between dealers, I did some research and 21-23% off MSRP seems to be the maximum you can achieve, at least w/Lexus.

There are random quotas that may be month, quarter, salesman, dealer dependent that you won't be able to know about, just kinda gotta try your luck.

E-mail one dealer, take the quote and send that to another dealer, repeat.
