Buying my first not-trash car; considering a vanity plate.

What does /o/ think of vanity plates? Do you have one?
>>
>>15948998
Get a "Police Supporter" plate and write "OINK" on it.
>>
In ohio, where I assume you're from, I was okay with paying $50 extra for a custom plate but then I found out it costs an extra $50 a year just to keep it. Even my historical vehicle plate, which doesn't even require yearly sticker updates would have me being billed $50 every year or they would invalidate the plate. Fuck that.
>>
>>15948998
What's with Ohio and vanity plates?
When I was there I saw more than I've ever seen in my life.

It was like every third car.

Haters gonna hate, so get one if you want.
Pic is mine, hard to see but the plate from says 'my other ride destroyed the death star'. I still cuss the bastard somewhere in the state who took 'XWING' so I couldn't get it for my motorcycle. Could still do 'XW1NG' or something but it's just not the same.

I have one on my car that's modified and also not seen often. People will know it's the same car.

Would you get your first and last name initials on a plate for a normal nice car? I noticed mine are avaliable the other day
>>
>>15949087
Honestly I'd rather it not be there, but it was already on the car when I bought it. Tried taking it off but the giant screws they used left some gnarly holes in the bumper.
>>15949057
>not being the tea party of a galaxy far far away
It's almost as if you enjoy the way your oppressors boots dig into your back
>>
>>15949116

That's a good idea

>>15949040

Nah, not Ohio here

OP here: ok so the bad thing is if you piss someone off they will remember your plate next time they see you because vanity plates are memorable. An advantage to regular plates are if you piss someone off on the highway on Monday, they generally don't remember to hold a grudge on you by Tuesday. This post was autistic and long to write, I hope you enjoy it.
>>
>>15949131
That is also a valid point. I have pulled some stupid stunts involving racing and speeding and then afterward thought to myself 'Fuck. Anyone who saw my plate will remember it'.
>>
I had one on my talon. Just sold it yesterday though so I might end up putting it on my trans am.

Nothing says try hard faggot like a vanity plate.
>>
I'd never use a vanity plate. They're easier to memorize if you do something stupid and someone tries to report you.

"Grey Honda headed north and plate says DUUUDE"

Vs

"Grey Honda headed north and plate the plate is GT.. or CT... maybe O or 0..."
>>
>>15949319
don't do something stupid then.

that easy
>>
>>15949324
easier said than done when your car literally is begging you to do stupid shit
>>
>>15949357
that's why resort to driving tiny as fuck shitboxes.

you sit like on a canonball that handles like a kart and at 80mph you think you'll die.

same speed feels like standing still in a modern mid size sedan.
>>
>>15949048
Coolest one I've recently seen was in Columbus during a gallery hop in the short north. Red C7 plate says PLAYER 2. I was like "oh this guy is maybe a collector or..." then fuck me if an identical blue C7 didn't pull up with a PLAYER 1 plate. You see some exotics there but I thought that was pretty cool

I have a vanity plate for my university, no custom text though. It's only $35/year more than a basic plate, worth it in my opinion.

>Would you get your first and last name initials on a plate
Name, initials, profession, etc are the worst. There's nothing as tacky as a plate that says "MR CHEN" or "NURSE 5".

I think the best vanity plates are ones that refer to the car in some way. This >>15949169 is a good one.
>>
>>15949588
Best will always be yellow-orange on black Illinois plates.

They really need to bring them back as a vanity option, aesthetic as fuck for muscle cars.
>>
>>15949034
If you get a police supporter plate, your car will be keyed or rocked by the homeless, negroes, and spics that are hating the police. You don't want to be a target of hate crime from those angry people.
>>
>>15949675
Pretty cool. California just started doing yellow and black plates for an extra fee.

I would except the car parks outside. Don't want to stick out because that makes the car a target for vandals. If it looks you care about something, they will wreck it for LOLs because they know you'll be hurting and angry. Can't wait until I move out of this low cost area but it's all I can afford.

I'm in Ohio as well and I didn't feel like it was worth the extra $50 a year. Owning a car is already expensive.
>>
Getting the vanity plate "ATMA" or "CURSED" for my c5 vette. Yes, I am a massive faggot.
