What's "the best" super car that you can buy new right now in the year of 2016 that has a traditional manual gearbox standard or as an option. No paddles allowed.

Pick one. Also, the V8 (which is the only engine approaching supercar performance) isn't available with a manual.

Think outside the box for once in your pathetic life FFS
>>
>>15945908
It makes, what, 380hp? A hybrid Volvo makes that much nowadays. It's not impressive by commuter car standards, and certainly won't hold up to any 550+ hp supercar engine.

Oh, and the chassis itself is too heavy to be considered a supercar in terms of performance. Come back when they build the CX-75.

Fucks sake, Jaguar...
>>

People couldn't handle a RWD 550hp supahchahged V-ate, hence the move to an AWD automatic. It's not a sportscar anyways, it's a tourer. Comfy as fuck too, I'd muchr ather get the auto, with it's wider gear spread for Bahnburning.

Not him but Jaguars aren't a car I'd shit on for being automatic on performance models but I'd still get a manual GT car any day. Hell BMW still ranks pretty highly for me just because they still offer manual despite being sort-of-luxury/performance based

Dumb enough to realise that bigger investment gains can be had in the automotive market, than there can be had on the stock market.

Better hurry then, not like you have much time left to make a fortune by scamming boomers
>>
>>15946481
Manual supercars and 911's might crash a bit once the financial market takes off again, and boomers die, but once the millenials figure out they want a mostly-computerless car, they'll skyrocket the prices again.
>>
>>15946494
So in 30 years, good luck with that
>>
>>15946494

What does this even mean
>>
>>15946503
they were also smart enough to know they have no place in a sports car
>>
>>15946518
That there's no modern nannies like adaptive cruise control, invasive traction control and such. Most late 90's/ early 00's supercars feature this lack of computerised control software.
>>
>>15946519
thats why Corvettes are usually automatic and why all serious performance cars these days are auto as well amiright
>>
>>15946536
Corvettes are usually autotragic because of the boomer demographic, and autoboxes certainly weren't the performance option up to a few years ago (depends on your opinion on the 6L vs the 8L).
>>
>>15946541
yeah its called technological advances

manual doesnt have a place in the performance world anymore

those are basically paddleshifters with a stick

theyre also less than paddleshifters on the hierarchy

Noble-M600-Carbon-Sport-63.jpg

How about a Noble M600? It projects true supercar numbers from a twin turbo'd 4.4 V8, 650 hp and 1200 kg means it easily smokes most things on the road, and it's one of the most manual cars you can legally buy new. Stick shift is standard, though they do offer a paddle-shift sequential box as an option these days, and the design philosophy eschews electronic training wheels in favor of driver skill.
>>
>>15946586
>that 1 cashgrab shitbox
>all their true performance cars are paddles

wow your so good at this
>>
>>15946583

Meant to say "one of the most manual street legal cars this side of a Caterham", but apparently I'm a moron who forgot to rewrite the entire message
>>
>>15946596
>ugly kit car

>>15946610
>reviews from muh feels autists

who cares

reviews means nothing for performance
>>
>>15946583
>those are basically paddleshifters with a stick
No. Consumer car's paddleshifters are either conventional torque converter auto's, or DCT's. Race-tier sequentials are a mechanical connection that removes the classic H-pattern for a sequential pattern. Combine this with a dogbox instead of synchros, and you'll get (literally) instant upshifts and downshifts - unlike a computer that hesitates on the downshifts.

>theyre also less than paddleshifters on the hierarchy
Actually, traditional torque converters with flappy paddles will usually be a lot slower on downshifts than a dogbox sequential. DCT's can get close, but the computer can just cuck you out of a shift if it wants to.

>F1 uses paddles and thats all you need to know
F1 uses electrohydraulic manuals - manual in clutch activation, manual in gear selection. They're activated by paddles instead of a gear lever, to keep the driver's hands on the wheel. Still, they're manual in every sense of the word.
>>
>>15946619
doesnt matter

if it isnt a h pattern its not really manual

>>15946615

So motorcycles are automatics then? A three on the tree is an automatic? Pic related is an automatic?

No, you idiot. Manual gearbox means both manual gear selection and manual clutch activation/deactivation. It has nothing to do with gear pattern.
>>
>>15946647
those are manual, but not real manual. learn to read
>>
>>15946647
motorcycles arent true manual

let me put it this way

if you arent using a stick to select your gears by going up down left and right it isnt manual

>>15946643
feels have no place in the performance world
>>
>>15946675
>>15946677
>my arbitrary definition of ''real'' manual, which I can't properly argument, is the only correct one
No. Manual = manual gear selection, manual clutch. Nothing more, nothing less.
>>
>>15946677
>not true manual
You're an idiot, what do you think a kick-shifter is for?
>>
>>15946677

manual gearboxes on supercars are for tryhard autists

manual gearboxes are for sports cars not supercars

if a car has better than a 5 lb/hp ratio it's time to let go of the big black shaft
>>
>>15946780
i agree with your points anon
>>
>>15946764
>"No son, you can't out-upshift an automatic in a straight line."
Fixed it for your dad. You try downshifting a TH400 like in >>15946753, see how quickyl that'll hit second gear.

>>15946770
Actually, I'd much rather use a Jerico instead, banging gears in an (almost) automatic-only sport has a lot more charm anyways. Auto's are bound to be better for perfomance anyways - can't beat a Lenco for anything voer 1000hp.
