keep the oem one.
find the oem or an aftermarket aux adapter that plugs into the back of the radio.

OEM does not have Bluetooth though.

you don't need bluetooth. aux or usb is better.

i actually have pic related and it's quite nice... desu just buy adapter plates and get a single din

Hands free.
>>15939855
Don't they fit like ass?
>>15939872
why does it need to be hands free? just get a headset. why does it need to tie into the radio? When i'm browsing craigslist i automatically disregard any car that doesn't have the original radio.
What is the best looking 2din stereo?
By best I mean gaudy and extravagant.

i have a bluetooth stereo and i can tell you it's way better than using a headset, the audio comes through the car speakers which is much more comfortable and i dont have to wear a goofy brain damaging headset

I have that exact one in the pic, DPX500BT
It's not too bad, it certainly works.

Fuck off poorfag

I'm not a poorfag bro. Aftermarket stereos are all hideous and I have to deal your fucked up wiring job if I buy your car afterwards.

Check out Pioneer's App radio
Also check out JBLs new double DIN unit with Android Auto, I think it's the best priced one, most of the others are overpriced like crazy, I'm looking at you Pioneer NEX series

The Pioneer FH-X830BHS is a good choice for you, they have BT, USB, Android support and Pioneer headunits have very high sound quality

>tfw did automotive electrician work for commercial vehicles
>twf my car uses only top brand connectors and aerospace certified connections
But I get where you're coming from, I had to rewire almost all of my friends cars as well as my own. Aftermarket stereos are 95% of the time better than OEM, only if your car has the top-dollar head unit that came as an additional option, it will be worth keeping. Aftermarket HU's as well as speakers are absolutely always worth it for a non-luxury DD. And most of them look pretty good these days too.

Any UK alternatives?
Pandora and similar services are not available in the UK.

This. Spare me your shit wiring job, your poorly matched speakers, etc.
Just add an aux port to your stock radio, and if you want blootoo, plug a blootoo adapter into your aux port.

In the UK you have either the Pioneer FH-X730BT or the Pioneer FH-X840DAB
This is the only solution =))))
Consider the MVH-X690BS media receiver (no CDs). Bluetooth, aux, and usb. Cheaper than the other pioneer decks.
buy one of the oem ones with bluetooth off of ebay. i have one in my gti and its pretty good. has bluetooth, sd card, aux, usb, and a 6 disc cd player. plus it has a pretty good sized touch screen. costed me like $200 usd and was plug and play. cant really beat it.

Can this be done without an amp?
I have a project car that doesn't need to be factory, but needs to LOOK factory. Current head unit pops and crinkles and sounds like shit even with fresh speakers. I am wanting to gut it, leaving the face plate and hiding something like this inside it.
What about this one?

No. Or yes, if you buy a poorfag pee-pee auxmod promoted by one faggot on this board, but otherwise you'll want to look into some basic electronics to retrofit the AUX and run some cables for an amplifier. Running speakers through a HU or some poorfag 15W chinese pee-pee amps is fucking stupid, you might as well not even do it because you will never achieve nice sounding audio quality without an amplifier that's properly adjusted for your speakers.
It's not even that expensive, instead of spending 30$ to ruin your car and any listening experience you might have in it, you're looking at 150-300$ and an afternoon depending on your needs and speakers to run a quality setup through an amplifier.
