Are stainless steel brake lines a meme?
>>
No. Fresh brake hoses will always be an improvement, stainless will be more of an improvement because brake pressure isn't lost to the hose expanding.

Not if they're properly lined and shielded. Cheap ones without shielding will cut through anything they touch.

Yes, stock hoses are already reinforced (steel braiding on S2000s/NSXs, thick aramid/fabric layer on BMWs pic related) to handle the pressures without expanding.

Rubber lines fail by weeping/leaking, more gradually than Stainless Lines just blowing out (bad crimps on ends of fittings or abrasion from not being properly routed)

I'd like to see a comparison between new rubber lines and stainless steel lines in brake feel, but most of the change in brake feel comes from replacing 10-20+ year old rubber lines with new stainless steel ones.

Bull. Replaced mine when they were less than three years old. Huge difference in feel and performance. Stock ones that were pulled out were still in excellent shape with no wear signs.
>>
Just wrap your existing lines in zip ties. Jeez.

Yes and no. Stainless steel brake lines can help make braking feel more linear. With that said, the difference is negligible and they are almost exclusively put in place when swapping out dated plastic/rubber lines which were long overdue on replacing anyway. You would get a similar effect just from some fresh generic OEM hoses.

What is a meme to you? Anything you're ignorant about that you are too stupid to research?

If you want to improve brake feel, the single best thing you can do is brace your booster.

Have you ever seen how much your firewall flexes when you are on the brakes? All that movement is lost. A brace tremendously improves brake feel. Like nothing else. Would highly recommend.

Braided lines are nice, but not necessary.

this
it's surprising and scary how many cars have a lot of flex at the firewall
