Gotta fix my leaky oil cooler lines, and maybe a new set of tires otherwise I'm good.

I got some Blizzak WS80 in my OE tire size. I think I'll put them on my stock rims and use lightweights for my summers.

how needed are engine block heaters for -10C?

do you just leave them running for 15 minutes before you start the car?

Completely unnecessary.

However when I had my carb'd sunny I had a coolant heater I installed.

Now that was the shit. Had it on a timer so 4 hours before I went to work it'd kick on. After 4 hours my mere 8 quarts of coolant was at 185f and I could turn my heater on without even starting the car.

I wouldn't bother with ~12f for a block heater though. Nice, but completely unnecessary.

Radiator cover is in the trunk(waiting for the cold weather) and winter tires are in the front part of the storage, with the snow shovel, waiting for the weather to drop below 0C/first snow. I have a good battery and oil(I run "winter oil" all year around). So in short,,, I´m ready.

It´s better to have the heater, but if you want wear out your engine to save little €, it´s not 100% nesessary. It´s the moment of starting that gets you. Cold oil doesn´t want to flow like warm one, so you´ll run the engine dry for a small while(same happens with warm oil too, but the difference is the amount of time).
