I'm looking around for a used car. I imagine most prices are assuming the car will be financed. If I pay cash, what % discount should I be aiming for? Should I even be looking at it that way, or should I just aim for the KBB median price?

The dealership makes money on financing, the myth of the cash discount is retarded.
Either do not disclose the fact you want to pay cash or accept financing for a discount and then pay off the loan in a lump sum as soon as the terms allow.

No. Buy on craigslist.

>as soon as the terms allow.
Also make sure you the terms allow early payoff. Dealers actually hate you got this, re the revenue from financing

I'm searching on Auto Trader, Kijiji and Craig's List. Issue is, I can't find that car I'm looking for and I'm looking to purchase within in the next two weeks.

what are you looking for? what's your zip code or local craigslist?

>Car Dealerships hate him.
But seriously if you have an amount saved, spend within that. Buy private party and don't finance.
>If it's questionable have it inspected by a shop
>Sometimes you meet folks who have zero aptitude for selling a car and get a good deal.

No he's right, kill yourself

most car dealerships hate cash buyers. don't expect any discount whatsoever beyond their normal discount.

pretty much this. Cash as the preferred method of payment died out a while ago. For dealerships at least.
It's another story with private sellers though.
