Thinking about getting a gen 1 viper, 15k miles, $30k... make sure it's mechanically sound then daily drive it... Yes or No?
>>15921208
no, the gen 1 viper is shit.
get a gen 2 or gts 1996-8/9?
>>15921244
What's so much better about gen 2
>daily driving a 1st gen Viper

Windows

Gen2 > Gen3+ >Gen 1

>the gen 1 viper is shit.
You're objectively right, but dem sidepipes tho
>>15921674
Sexpipes are sexy, but it also ruined the paint on early models, it's a hit you can take because it's fucking side pipes man.

>daily driving a viper with a V10 engine
wew, well get used to filling it up every week if you do decide to get it. I had to do that with my V10 Ram and it was hell.
>>15921689
At least gas doesn't cost $5.9/gallon where you live...
>>15921680
>it also ruined the paint on early models
It'll ruin the paint on your leg, too, if you're not careful.

> Thinking about getting a gen 1 viper
Ok
> 15k miles, $30k...
Viper miles are a bit different than normal car miles. Also how was it stored and for how long between drives?
> make sure it's mechanically sound
Always a good idea, of course
> then daily drive it... Yes or No?
I respect your choices but don't think you'll like this one
>>15921244
No it's not.
Gen 1 Viper will try to kill you at any chance
>>15921680
>it also ruined the paint on early models
it still does
These threads are all so interesting. People comment on things about the car, when the chances that most commenting have even seen one of these, let alone been allowed to touch it, lets not even think about driving one, are slim.
You're better off asking a forum dedicated to these cars, asking people who actually own/owned one.

>gen 1 viper
Not even once

Know that the cost of replacing the rear tires can be absurd since their size doesn't seem to be made anymore, by which I mean $600 or so per rear tire.
Gen1 Vipers are crude.
The sidepipes make the cabin very hot and noisey.
Clutch effort will either blow out your knee of give you an incredibly powerful left leg.
It'll kill you if you try to drive it with enthusiasm
>>15922101
What's their size?
>>15922141
That's the point.
