Missed all of the last day's threads because I went to help a buddy do his first out of warranty work on a weestrom. If you ever wonder why a suzuki engine is missing torque, it's probably because they spent it all installing the bolts. Blog tiem:

>attach new socket we spent $12 on to the breaker bar, it all fits
>won't move
>try and try stuff for 40min to get this bar to shift it
>old broken torque wrench bar wedged between the swingarm and wheel to hold it in place because we're driving the wheel through the rear brake
>still can't budge the thing, either we can't get enough force on or the socket slips off the nut because the bar is millimetres away from touching the fairing
>grab a 6in breaker bar
>thing just slips more
>have to cradle the extension bar in one hand, push on the breaker with the other
>I am a lever and the world is my fulcrum

>rear wheel took no time

I bought one from Canadian Tire but they don't store them with the acid in them, so they pour it in and charge it and you pick it up later, but it seems too quickly to charge it properly. Battery was dead like 2 weeks after ownership and I think it's because they fugged the charging up.

Can anyone help me choose a new handlebar and handguard set for my DR350?
I'm going through ProTaper, Renthal, and Moose Racing's websites but have no fuckin clue what model/bend to get. They have so many different names but no preview images and the listed dimensions don't really help. I want a crossbar. I'm also riding mostly street; my stock handlebars don't really feel comfortable when I stand but I never need to stand for my riding/

As for handguards, I'm thinking Moose Contours. Barkbuster JET looks affordable too.

I use the ProTaper EVO on my DR650. It doesn't have a crossbar, but it's strong as hell. I mean, I've rekt on dirt, rock, and pavement and the bars are fine. Bent the shit out of the mounting bolts, if that tells you anything about the bar itself.

I've been totally sold on the efficacy of motogymkhana by his performance on track too, he was very fast despite not practicing on any twisty roads (due to fear of losing license again)

We need to work on his body position but he was quick, so I'm doubling down on cone practice and not being lazy with it from now on, I'm convinced more than ever low speed informs high speed.

The main issue is it's hard to drum up interest in motogymkhana, it's not easy, in fact it's really fucking hard. The first time you go around a tight motogymkhana course with your hand off the clutch you are shitting bricks and death gripping the bars, the first time I did it I ended out with sore hands at the end of the day just from the clamping force I was exerting on the bars. But it's not "cool" like wheelies so people aren't interested in trying it again after finding it hard as hell.

I wish they would though, they don't know what they're missing out on. We're struggling to find good spots to practice (our current location sucks), to get locations you need interest and numbers, that simple, we don't have that.

KY sucks dick. Unless you go WAY out into the boonies (guaranteed to find a black bear or get lost tho) you can't find good trails to ride on. I really want an enduro, but there's nowhere to actually take one off road.
