Sexy Aftermarket equipment edition
Talk about classic cars
Talk about classic car feels
Ask about classic cars here
A vehicle over 25 years old is technically a "classic" but it needs something more than just age to it
Post American, Asian or European classics

Bump
Bumping with my '72 beetle
Adding some resto pics
So the week before I joined the tour, everybody got to race their cars around Watkins Glen track.
Apparently it was pretty hairy - no banked turns=heavy lateral Gs on the wooden spokes = loose wheels
It hurts having a nice camera and not being able to take pictures of my car because I haven't had the time to work on it cosmetically.
Such a nice photo, such a shit bumper.

1995 Miata
>Old V8 with 10.1:1 compression needs premium
>my modern 4 banger with 10.4:1 can run on regular
So what's the story, just retard the ignition until it stops knocking?

Better quench design on the cylinder head along with knock sensors.

Are you getting new pistons? What compression ratio are you looking for

Have an old shot of my old cars.

If you guys are near or ever are near Lincoln, NE be sure to check out the Speedway Motors museum. It has numerous, glorious pre-war race engines along with post-war race engines and racecars. Custom built full race Model T engines are amazing.
>>15914209
D-do they have the DOHC Chevrolet bros head from OP?
Fuck it even if they just had rajo or Frontenac ohv heads that would be rad
>>15916345
Yes, I am pretty sure more than one even. The whole main room at the entrance is full of pre-war race engines. There are tons of SOHC and DOHC Model T based engines. Some people back then even cast their own blocks with the non structural parts made out of sheet metal in their backyard garage.
They also have a really cool display of Indy race engines from the early days to present. Including a few versions of Plymouth's attempt at Indy. Amazing stuff for gear head nerds.
>>15909414
Better combustion chamber design, better head cooling, and more control over the combustion process (EFI, solid state ignition, etc). Direct injection also allows for even higher compression ratios, I think Mazda is hitting as high as 14:1 for their new SkyActive petrol engines.
>>15916592
Why would anyone bother casting their own model T block? They could go to any junkyard and find hundreds of T blocks
