So, i live in an area that has salt on the roads, for half of the year. Combine this with gravel roads making tiny dings in unseen spots, and every single vehicle ive ever bought has rusted from the inside out.
Would an aluminum truck be what i need? I know it oxidizes, but from what i understand it doesnt destroy the panels like steel does.
So is it bullshit, or are there better options?

Yeah mate, go for it.

you don't need a new truck. just buy a clean southern truck for like 8k and invest the rest.

It's just the body that's aluminum. The truck will look nicer, but you will still have functional problems with rust in the frame/suspension that will eventually kill the truck.
NO OP YOU NEED A STEEL TRUCK BECAUSE BEAR CAGES AND YOUR BED WILL GET DENTED IF YOU DROP 750LBS OF BRICKS FROM 10 FEET IN THE AIR INTO IT.

but frame isn't made of aluminium is it?

It's steel
Have the vehicle undercoated OP.
>>15898811
The frame is still steel so you'll want an undercoating for that.

The frame isn't too much of problem, easy to grind and slap on some rustolium. Its the body panels that are always pissing me off. Especially if its on the cab itself. And its always from the inside out.
Im hoping to own the truck for at least 10 years. Which is normally impossible in my salty existence.

We won't know how they hold up until their ten years old.
