Just checked out a Miata I'm looking at (JM1NA3517L0147295) with this website and it says it's only worth $1000 for private sale? This seems low... Here's the craigslist ad:

Listed for 3500. Can I negotiate it down pretty far, or is the website's estimate just way off? It was sold in 2015 for $6000 (way too much imo)

they might be using a standard presumptive value to estimate it. still 1k for a 90 miata seems low. that one in the ad is clean and 2bh I'd pay anywhere from 2500-3000 for it.

generally NADA is what I use when valuing a car. same with credit unions.

Just looked at page 5 of the report, the bell curve of local sale prices. Looks like average sale price in my area is $5000. That seems a lot more accurate than $1000. I'll probably offer the guy the full $3500, but with the extra Konig wheels thrown in.
