Se è usata non penso sia rigida, poi il taglio sembra casual, non è come la racing d1, quindi dovrebbe vestire come una giacca normale.

Ti consiglio di andare a provare le taglie in negozio però, dainese veste quasi sempre un pò attillata.

so /dbt/ i posted last night and got a good response but i figured id ask again

what are the chances that a bike that has been misfiring/staling at idle/low revs will shit the bed on me if i use it to commute
>>

No, they're not. there are very few straight roads where I live specifically.

it's a work truck with a 4.9l i6. it's got 4.11s so that it can tow, and it has good torque but it has a boat anchor for an engine. probably weighs about 38-3900lbs. here's the rear suspension for reference.

It happens intermittently, not every time I'm idling. I've grown accustomed to listening for when the rpms start to fluctuate and just let on a little bit slowly, and then roll off slowly. Also I try not to be stuck in traffic and keep it moving

Honestly I just think its BMW voodoo since every time I've taken it to the shop they haven't been able to find what's wrong

What kind of boots do you guys own? I always have the toughest time deciding on any kind of clothing/gear. I live near Seattle so something waterproof is gonna be greatly beneficial.

Is the jump from, say, regular no-name waterproof membranes to Gore-Tex gonna be huge? The price difference is pretty significant. I am looking for something I can wear pretty much year round though, so I can probably justify $200-250 if I have to. I normally wear a size 11W, 11.5 or 12 depending on the fit.

I also have very narrow legs that doesn't help much, I'd like something that my leg isn't swimming in, either. I'm 6'2" and 155lbs.

>>15881272

>>15881273
the carb has two jets most likely, one for revving, and one for idling. it sounds like it's running rich because it'll run great when it's cold with the extra fuel, but once it warms up you won't get a complete burn, you'll get fuel building up and every once and a while it will misfire/fire poorly and start to die

look up your proper carb tuning specs, or if you have exhaust/intake mods specs for that

the idle air:fuel screw allows you to adjust the richness of the idle but only a little bit. should be on the bottom of your carb somewhere
>>

>also tfw no more farkles
>>
>>15881288
If cyllinder seems like it isn't firing, look at the spark plugs first

Injectors sound likely if it's just at idle. There's enough fuel getting through with a more open throttle to cause some combustion.

disclaimer: i'm a shit mechanic and it took me two weeks to figure out the rubber boot on a carb was dry-rotted

If the battery isn't there. None, unless you fill that gap with a capacitor. If you have a dead battery hooked up, most should run when started. Some of the newer ECUs will put your bike in 'limp' mode so you don't cook your charging system.
Modern carbed dirtbikes can run happy with just a capacitor.

That can depend on what bike it is. A lot of BMWs and some Hondas in the 80s had EFI and they need juice if they have been sitting a while to start. Also, many bikes did not have systems for lighting and ignition.

If you want to buy a bike that has a 'dead battery' get a portable jump starter and give it a whirl. Unscrupulous people will often use the dead battery to hide serious issues like blow-by or a leaking gasket.

Anything with some leather will also break in a little bit, so I'd go for something snug for sure.

Bringing a jump starter is a good way to see if they are legit. Another thing I bring when looking at any vehicles or looking with a friend is a endoscope camera, that lets you see into the real tight spots on a bike or car. This saved a friend from buying a CBR1100 that had JB weld beaded along the base of the cylinder bank. The seller didn't want us to take the fairing off. She said her ex-boyfriend had 'fixed everything' before they broke up.

So I've been attempting my to wheelie KLR650 or at least get the wheel off the ground. So ride along in 1st at 10mph I pull in the clutch, give er about 4000 rpms, let out and... nothing, not at first, no power to the wheel for a split second, no wheelie.

Similar shit happens when I wot power wheelie.

Is this a problem with my clutch? If so is it easy to fix? It runs perfectly fine doing anything besides trying the wheelie the fat fucker.

Helmet, jacket, jeans, gloves and riding boots that extend at least 3 inches proximal of the malleolus. Jacket has shoulder, back (wide, covering the kidneys) and elbow pads; jeans have thigh and knee pads. Jeans and jacket must have aramid along the impact zones.

I have Marfan's so I'd need to get a 1 piece custom tailored to fit me properly (I have a torso that's a small T shirt size but arms that are a long enough to require at least a large).

The jacket and pants have hi-vis strips, wanted a helmet that wasn't black or white and there's no good graphic options at the moment. I'm not expecting to be seen anyway, I've nearly been floored by a car before on a red bike while dressed up like a telly-tubby in full fluro and a white helmet so I learned early to just assume I'm invisible.

I wear a good full face helmet
Pakistani mesh jacket. It's actually pretty good.
Pakistani knuckle gloves, which are shit
jeans/ cargo pants
heavy army boots

A reminder that the only gear that will actually save your life is a helmet. Maybe a rigid chest protector which nobody but motocross guys ever wear. Nothing else protects against broken bones either.

Why only my helmet is good, if I low side I'm willing to accept some missing booty meat as part of the price of admission for riding a bike. I wear gloves because getting dinged in the knuckle by a random 75mph pebble is an experience worth doing only once. Everything else is an afterthought compromise.

Instead of jeans would something like nylon hiking pants or cotton-poly pants offer more abrasion resistance? I've never seen nylon pants get holes worn in them, but the material is thin, too.

I dunno what non motorcycle pants would be best in a slide.
>>

I'm hoping it's normal because I like the sound too. It's the first new Honda I've owned where I haven't considered a third party exhaust, I'm pretty sure they were going savagely after BMW when they designed it.
>>
>>15881787
Jeans. Hiking pants rip really easily.
>>
>>15881787
Nylon will melt in a slide leaving you with melted polymer fused to your exposed subdermis. Jeans (for me, at least) doesn't refer to straight denim, it refers to either a denim-aramid blend or denim with an aramid lining.

It's your call, but I suggest spending time on Harley forums (this is not one) to learn what years and models do what you want.

I prefer Dynas for comfort and better handling than Softails. Softies exist as the heir to the old style swingarm frames and the rear fork is to emulate old hardtails.

I would prefer the Sportster to a Softail. The rubbermount Sportsters are good machines and quite reliable.

xlforum is THE Sportster resource.

BTW anyone referring to Sportsters as "beginner" or "girls" bikes is ignorant of HD history.

I am leaning more towards a mid to late 90's solid mount regular old 1200 because they are stupid cheap, like 3 grand for a low mile well maintained 1200. I figure if I want to make it sportier, I can throw on some better brakes and better forks but I am not too worried, I would rather just cruise around than race.

I like the sporty, they are cool little bikes with great reliability and aren't that much. I would like a dyna, but those are more laid back than what I want in a bike. what do you have?

Bull-it Sahara chinos. Extremely comfy, the light colour stops them getting too hot in the sun and the lining keeps the outer layer from touching your skin while also allowing some air to circulate up the legs.

Power brakes ain't hard to retrofit nor are front disks, but they cost a bit. OTOH those old Fords will last a lifetime and parts are cheap.

I have an FXR, an FXLR (an FXR for midgets, FXRT fork install in progress to cure that), and two Shovelhead Low Rider. Miles Engineering chassis Trident and 74" stroker Ironhead in slow progress.

I like your solid mount Sporty choice more than a rubbermount since lighter and plentiful and still has the trap door so trans work doesn't require splitting the cases. Mid to late 90s has the alternator on the crankshaft (I forget the cutoff year) which beats the alternator/clutch basket silliness. A rubber Sporty is a good bike but weighs close to FXR weight.

You won't really need a fork upgrade but a front brake upgrade is a VERY good idea. Lots of options. Fab Kevin and others make sportbike caliper adapters, and adapters to fit four-piston Harley calipers are available. I threw two of those on my '88 FXR and it stops much better than the stock shit I ran since new.

If you are handy you can buy some Harbor Freight transfer punches to run through the fork leg mount holes and make your own simple plate adapters. There are other ways to measure but every mechanic should own transfer punches.

You can use late 39mm dual disc fork sliders to mount later HD calipers instead of adapters. I don't have that parts book but someone on xlforum will know. You can also swap front ends, but axle diameter changed so collect all the info before shopping.

I'm "farmall" on Chop Cult and elsewhere.

If you buy a Harley, get the factory parts book and factory service manual. Clymer/Haynes/Chilton etc are too general.

Your third-world trucks are pretty cute :^)
>>
>>15881878
They do in the South, but freight would suck. I prefer the F250/350 versions too.

My '76 has an F100 cab and title, F250 frame and running gear, and F350 rear spring pack plus wrecker-style overload springs. Drivetrain is a Lincoln 460 w. Holley 650, mild cam and C6 trans.. I have a Holmes 440 boom on it.

I don't really like small blocks in such heavy trucks. 460 is a bit thirsty but not thirstier then a built small block. A moderately built 300 has small block displacement and good torque, and a 351 Windsor is an excellent truck engine.

If you are gonna mostly do light street use you may not need the eight lug axles. The 9" rear and F100 suspension swap.

If you find an 8-lug 1970s van with discs, one I-beam is too short (I forget which side) but the rest will swap and you can swap the spindle onto your beam.
