I know you guys have your motor oil analyzed. Post your results, anything going on with your engine?

Those oil change stickers is whack. I never knew Coldstone did ice cream and oil analysis.

how much do UOA's cost anyway?
I run amsoil but could it be cost effective to send in a bunch of these to find out that I can, indeed, run 25k mile oil changes?

did they give you the vaping fedoralord discount?

It's $28, there is some sort of discount thing if you do bulk amounts then it's $25 per test. The standard analysis just measures metals and things found in the oil. As shown here >>15878373 I have been doing my oil changes at 7k miles, they told me to do 9k miles for the second but only did 8k and still ended up with the same amount or less in the oil. There is a different type of test to measure how used up the oil is, which might be more useful to see if the oil can last 25k miles.

Not my car. Someone else posted it in the forums long ago and dug it out of the archives. Now I am starting to think about sending my oil in. Wondering how good the K&N filter is doing at filtering out dust. If the sillycon level is high, then I can assume dust got past the K&N filter and added the silicon to the oil.
Where can I get this done in so-cal?
I run 5W-30 Mobil 1 in my LS6 track car. It's not a dedicated track car, so I keep using OEM recommended oil, as I drive it on weekends sometimes. The engine likes the 11.0 centistokes at full operating temp, but I reach 250F on track, even with my added engine oil cooler and upgraded all aluminum XL radiator. Tempted to go to 0W-40 Mobil 1 for that viscosity protection at track temps. I need to figure out if the OEM spec oil is holding up or damaging my engine :/
I'm good friends with a guy who is a higher up at one of these places, and I just sent one in. Very excited to see what my 242k Lexus sc400 has to say.

Go on the blackstone website and they'll send you kits like in the OP. Lots of FAQ for the type of tests you want done.

Nice! Thanks!

There's two companies that do oil analysis. Blackstone is one. I forgot the other name unfortunately but maybe someone else here knows.
