What do you call cars with a long narrow engine compartment like pic related?
Old?
>>15875826
Is there no generic term for those cars with such a long and narrow hood?
>>15875826
this
>>15875817
We actually define these cars from their timeframe
Pre-war, before WW1
interwar, between WW1 and WW2
Post-war, after WW2.
At least that's how i've always talked about them.
>ywn run over plebians in your golden godmachine
why even live
>>15875886
>ywn make 300 ft lbs of torque with 60 whp
Just call them pre-war because the abandoning of fully styled fenders and running boards coincided relatively accurately with the time after the war.

Thanks mate.

Phaetons

Shooting-brake body design iirc

Duesenberg > Rolls Royce

Coffin-nose? Dunno, I've heard that getting thrown around before.
>>15875978
>implying any of those two can compete with this
>>15875970
Phaetons are four door soft tops. OP's example wouldn't even be a phaeton.
>>15875976
Shooting brakes originally simply were wagon style vehicles with seating and cargo space for more occupants than a usual car.
>>15876012
actually OP's example is exactly a Phaeton.
"A phaeton is a style of open automobile or carriage without weather protection... with a cowl separating the rear passengers from the driver and front passenger."
>>15876028
Actually it's not. A cowl isn't an entire cabin, it's just a second windshield. OP's example is a town car, brougham or coupe de ville (and you'll notice something, the naming for later American car models wasn't picked randomly, but to falsely suggest wealth).

Duesys, Cords, and Auburns are all from Auburn, Indiana. I visit the museum in the old dealership/corporate office once a year.
