>He doesn't double clutch
whats the benefit?
do people actually do this?
>>15873547
Absolutely nothing
Yes, heel-toeing too
I once read that it only benefits older transmissions without synchros to not damage it.

The only time I ever double clutched was seating the brakes of a 54 New Yorker (no synchromesh).
It does serve A SINGLE purpose, which is smooth shifting in unsynchro'd gears.

It also helps with lowering the wear of synchromesh gears.
it makes no difference in modern transmissions, reduces wear ever so slightly.
But its a great skill to learn. makes you much more aware of revs and helps greatly when you move on to heel and toeing.
heel and toeing is great fun and i do it every shift.
It helps if you're driving a car with worn or non-existent synchros, and it's smoother when you engage the next gear

this is correct.

So you brake on every single shift?
You do realize heel-toeing is when you brake while pressing the throttle.
I just keep imagining being behind someone doing this.
>brakes come on everytime he shifts
>including upshifts
>tries to upshift from 4th to 5th
>also brakes because MUH HEEL TOE
>No longer going fast enough for 5th gear
>car stalls while driving

Its pretty hard on a motorcycle. If you hit 1st or 2nd instead of neutral you will become a road crayon.
