Why shouldn't I buy a modern Subaru WRX?

You should. They're amazing cars.

You should. they're great.

>different needs = different cars
doesn't take a moron to understand this
Reliability is below average.
If you want an sti, they are still using the older EJ engines on their new cars. Nothing wrong with them, just keep that in mind

these cars are fantastic. take one for a test drive first.

I think all camrys get a turbo option now, not just the wrx trim...

I have a truck for heavy dooty needs and a motorcycle for DDing
Really just want something fun and to take to track/drift every once in a while on the weekends. Maybe also a normalish commuter car for rainy days since my truck gets shit mileage.
It's either this or a Miata or something similar.

I would buy this in a heartbeat if they made a coupe version like the 22b

A buddy of mine got one, he loves it; I would say test drive one if you want a new one.
If you want to stick with Subaru, a BRZ gets slightly better gas mileage and sits lower so you get a slightly better driving feel at tracks

Nope. You want RWD, and that's not just /o/ memes.
I like the cars, but it isn't what you want. Check out the 370Z, it would do what you want better.
Has nobody heard? Subaru is dropping manuel transmissions.

>Most younger buyers won’t even look at a manual gearshift car when looking for a new or used vehicle.
Man, I hate millennials. All the cars I have ever enjoyed driving were manual. But thinking about it, most of my friends cant drive manual, with the exception of my friend with his e28 and my other friends sunfire.
boring to drive in comparison to competition

because shitty modern car design.
Not comfy, interior of plastic, gets shit on by lesser family sedans (accord or Camry v6, or even altima v6...)
