Anyone ever sell used car parts on craigslist?
I sold a used alternator to a east indian guy for $50. Apparently he installed it on a different vehicle than it's meant for and it isn't working properly. He claims I sold him something broken. He is sending me threats saying he'll show up to my work.
Should I just refund his money?

How does he know where you work?

I don't know. He knows where I live and work because I got talking to him in my garage when he picked it up at my home. I've sold to dozens of people these past few months and never had an issue. Even made a new friend last week because we have similar projects going on. I was always comfortable with letting people in. This also happens to be the first not white person who's bought from me.
Is this normal among foreigners?
Do not respond. At all.
Even if he does go to work and start throwing a fit, you literally have the story that explain s it all.
You aren't responsible for him making sure what he buys is what he actually needs.

He did ask if it was broken and I told him no and if there was a problem to just text me and we'd work it out. The problem is he's set on the fact that I sold him something broken and when responding that the alternator was incompatible with his vehicle, he thought it was an excuse to cheat him.

He might be trying to scam you into taking back his broken one.

Annoying?
caveat emptor
Report him to the police.
No joke. It's not okay to threaten someone like that.
