OP from before >>15809972
Finally got the car home. Drove it from Wis consin back home to Michigan. Drove really well for a 32 year old car. Thermostat is shot, and the exhaust is ruined, but otherwise it was solid.

Interior was so clean it looked brand new inside.
Stance it

lol, no
OP DELIVERED!!!!!
Looks awesome! I must admit I'm jealous of your interior, as mine is completely trashed.
>Drove it to Michigan.
No shit... if you're on the West side of the state I'm going to freak. There are only 2 LTDs I know of where I am. My LX, and a chick with a regular '85 LTD.

Meh... that's only 6 hours or so from me. I figured if you were driving from WI you'd either be UP or West MI.
Glad the car handled well for the ride home! Reminds me of picking mine up. Flew out to Boise, ID on barely any sleep, then drove straight home only stopping twice for two hour naps, and a few more quick ones to gas up/eat/piss/shit.
Then I get home to discover my fuse was blown and the entire trip was done with no brake or tail lights O_O
>>15850937
ouch. No no, my trip was only 30 minutes just across the river. We also checked that all the lights and signals worked beforehand. In fact, everything inside the car works perfectly so I was pretty confident, plus I had someone following me back.

Yeah, in hindsight I stuck my neck out pretty far with mine, as I was alone. With that lack of sleep, there was once or twice I drove to the point I was so tired I was beginning to hallucinate.
Also keep in mind this happened in Late November. Thank god there wasn't snow because the tires were so old they got ZERO traction in the snow (so old they were nylon belted).
To top everything off, when I fired up the car the next day after getting home, the tensioner pully gave out.
And if given the chance, I would most likely still do the trip all over again...
Dude, when I was a stupid teenager bagging groceries at Safeway, one of the regular customers had one brand-spanking NEW (thats how old I am BTW).
I always thought the Fox-platform LTD was pretty comfy and classy and the LX was my dream car. I am glad you bought it.
It looks like all the rare/unique bits are there, and mechanically its a Mustang, so you can upgrade it eight ways from Sunday to make a retro sleeper.
How does it handle and brake BTW?
Here, have an article

TFW got my sister's 1985 LTD with a V6 as a hand-me-down in the mid-1990s and my younger brother rolled it.

It used a throttle body injection IIRC

CFI. Central fuel injectors on a throttle body. Looks kinda like a carb.

Rhese guys are right. As a heads up, Ford used a new TBI setup for the 84s, and cancelled it for 85 because it was so bad. Highly recommend either a full fledged EFI or carb setup.
