The 3 speed automatic gearbox.
I mean, 700hp in the 80's was awesome. But with a 3speed made to reach more than 200mph the acceleration was shit.

The 3-Speed was basically a truck transmission and it was the only off-the-shelf part that could cope with the W8's immense torque.
>>15840408
the acceleration was pretty good actually, cosidering it weighed about 4000lbs
0-124mph in 12.0s

Would play synthwave in.
all their money came from some stock offerings and a few lawsuits they won
and each car was hand made, which took a lot of time to fine tune and work out kinks.
Megatech gained a controlling stake in the company and demanded Weigert to relinquish control and become only designer. he refused, locked the place down and was fired. Their next car was shelved when it didnt meet sales goals, and they had trouble with lamborghini (who they owned at the time) because Vector couldnt pay them for their engines. They sold off Lamborghini, but supposedly the son of Megatech was embezzling money from Vector
their next prototype, only one of which was built, was the last thing they ever did, before the company closed its doors.
Then around the early 00's Weigert bought back the remains of the company, and pic related was made as a prototype, which was 10 years ago.
TL;DR, vector had loads of ambition and vision, but didnt seem to have the resources or manpower to really do much and their only real success only ever sold 17 cars, after which stock power struggles and corporate fuckery fucked the company
