So I live here in Cornistan (read: Ohio) and my poor saturn L300 can't handle the roads and trails I have to drive to get anywhere anymore. I've narrowed it down to these two as they are both relatively cheap and reliable. I don't plan on buying one any older than '04 to '09. Which is better?
CR-V for reliability
Forester for better AWD
The Forester is better in every way imaginable
I've been looking at Foresters almost exclusively for my wife's next car can CRVs or Rav4s even compare on reliability (after head gasket service) and mpgs?

Are you fucking kidding?

Neither. Only women and cucks buy crossovers. Just get a sedan faggot.

Just get some tires with aggressive tread for your "trail" expeditions and keep the Saturn.
Forester mang

>muh lesbians
I got over that shit quick. I love my saturn but it handles like shit in the winter, even with proper tires. Pic related.

More reliable than a Forester with exploding head gaskets

So is the consensus leaning towards foresters then? Sounds fine to me.

I would, but even if I did I'd still be scraping ass. Shit's too rural out here and I need something with a bit more height to it.

CR-V: is jacked up civic with awd. it was designed as a soft roader (beaches etc)
FORRESTER: basically a WRX with more ground clearance. dont buy a turbo one. thirsty for a 4 cylinder turbos are worse drinks like a V8... maintenance heavy, parts are expensive.
buy a used XJ jeep cherokee and convert to propane only. will outlast the subaru

Maybe you should git gud. I have no problem in my civic.

Ouch, yeah might be time for a bigger vehicle. Even a 3rd gen 4runner or late 90s early 2000s pathfinder would work well. Might not get the same mileage as a CRV/Forester though.

My forester is great in the snow.
> pic related. No digging required to get out.
Get 03-08 the other ones are ugly. Make sure the head gasket is done or be ready to do it yourself.

Sister has a 1998 Forester, old man has a 2004 Outback, dear old mum has a 2010 Forester.
Only the usual CV joints and boots as well as a clutch on the Outback which is fair cop, it's got over 200,000Km on it. Sister's Forester dropped the Cam Position Sensor and Crank Position Sensor and needed an automatic transmission flush but that's it. Mum's Forester hasn't needed any repairs whatsoever.
Doing pretty well, nothing major at all. We are happy with the Scooby Doo's.

Manual Forester or Outback lad. Manual Outbacks have a transfer case and torque distribution is 50/50. Automatic models do not have a transfer case and can be up to 90 front / 10 rear.

They don't explode you meme spouting fuck. They slightly leak externally on some ej25s.
CRV ultimate mom car but most reliable by far.
Have one, zero problems for 14 years straight.
