Why can't anybody but americans build a decent pickup truck?
See this? It's a work van, not a shopping cart.

it comes with turbocharged engines
>>15800487
I'm sorry we can afford to pave our roads in Europe?

Even better, it comes with a turbodiesel making all the necessary torque from far less displacement and fuel consumption, and not some horseshit boat anchor petrol engine.

They wont get stuck in the mud in 3 seconds like his yuro van-truck

Something tells me you have no experience with work trucks.
At my work we have three Isuzu cubes, one has an Isuzu diesel and the other two have a gm 6.0. Not only do they get up to speed much quicker than the diesel but they do better on gas too.
Not to mention the gas engines heats up a lot quicker than the diesel when it's winter
I'm really gassy tonite i keep farting little farts i can feel them 10 minutes before they're released

Because noone else gives a fuck about them.
You want a real offroad work beast you get pick related and then get a real car. Pick-ups are like microwaves that try to also be oven and are shit at both.

>>15800751
Complete bullshit. That's a class 8 tractor. Eurohandivans are all light duty comparable to three quarter ton and one ton trucks. Here's a big boy eurotruck. 80,000 lbs legal weight, the same as entire American semi combinations.

1. They're work vehicles and not show cars, and plastic is lighter, cheaper and less susceptible to visual damage than your shiny fucking chrome.
2. It's highly useful for construction vehicles to be easily visible road-side for the safety of the workers and surrounding traffic.
3. The pictured truck has got engines up to 885 lbft of torque available and is rated for up to 23,000 lbs towing.
>>15801177
>200hp cuckhatches are seen as "fast" in yurop
>>15801184
Actually new cars aren't taxed to shit at all, it's old American shitbarges with boat anchor engines and crappy emissions that'll make you poor, and even then there are usually excemptions in place for historic registrations. It's just that European societies never got as car obsessed as the Americans to begin with and didn't start planning their entire infrastructure around cars, so cars don't hold as much prestige as in the US and people don't see themselves forced to waste as much money on them as Americans do.

>>15801486
>>15801495
Our license classes have nothing to do with the utilization. If you're licensed to drive a 40 tonne semi truck you can do it private and commercially alike. I have no clue about insurance rates, but taxes for utility vehicles are calculated differently from passenger vehicles and will stay on a managable level especially if you're earning money with that vehicle anyway. I don't think anyone will buy a semi truck just for private use, I was merely trumping all competition in the silly displacement argument.

Bullshit. You don't need a built up offroader to drive down a dirt road every now and then, and you're not gonna take your built up weekend offroader across state on highways to visit family. If there are two jobs to do, two different tools will always do them better.

Fighter jets have steps for the pilot to use. They're losers I guess. Rich folk have steps on their escalades, losers, the lot of them. Heavy equipment has steps for the operator to use, tearing down buildings? Job for a LOSER. Tatra's Dakar truck has steps, driver is such a faggot loser.
>>15801287
No, but we've got Peterbilt and Kenworth. Get. Fucked.
>>15801495
Yes you can. In theory as soon as I turn 21 I could go and take a Category C+E licence which allows me to drive any vehicle over 7500kg and a trailer over 750kg. It would be expensive and I'm guaranteed to fail because I don't know the first thing about driving large vehicles, but I still theoretically could.
I'm just guessing here, but I think that if I didn't have my own company and had the company buy the truck, insurance would be more expensive because very few people privately own their own trucks
>>15800823

I work in the construction industry. Trust me, you can drive vans on a lot of terrible roads. You can also get vans with 4wd.
Some people in this industry prefer vans over pickups because the space inside a van is more practical. Personally I drive a van just because that's what the boss set up for us. But occationally we use a pickup to haul heavy things.
I think both vans and pickup trucks have their place in serious work.
Vans are god tier when it comes to organizing your tools, or transporting things in general. With a pretty big van, you can even eliminate the need for a trailer in many cases. I put so much junk into my van, with a pickup I ironically couldn't pick up as much shit as I do in my van.
this is what serious work is about, all business, not what's cool and stylish

Let's first clear up one thing:
>2016 Mazda CX-5 UK Towing Rating: 1800kg
>2016 Mazda CX-5 Canada Towing Rating: 907kg
>Same engine
So considering that whatever standards UK tests to for towing are VASTLY different, by a factor of 2 (though for the comparison below, let's say 1.5), let's compare the average fleet vehicle:
>Isuzu D-Max Ext. Cab 2WD: $30'500CAD (converted from BPD to CAD)
>1085 / 3500kg payload/braked trailer capacity, so closer to 725 / 2333kg adjusted to NA standards
>157hp 295ftlb 2.5L 4cyl
>5.5ft bed
>Ford F-150 Ext. Cab 2WD: $26,859CAD
>754 / 2272kg payload/braked trailer capacity
>365hp 420ftlb 3.5L V6
>6.5ft bed
Dodge RAM 1500 Quad Cab 2WD: $33,490CAD
>727 / 4200kg payload/braked trailer capacity
>240hp 420ftlb 3.0L V6
>6.5ft bed
