Okay, I'll bite. The problem is that the hand position in the OPs pic is really bad for precise steering inputs. If anything happens while you hold the wheel like that, chances are you won't be able to correct accurately enough to control your car the way you want. You always want to "pull" the wheel from below, you NEVER want to "push" it if at all possible. Here's the thing though: if you're the kind of person who does the "one hand on top" driving, you're not good enough to do any kind of precision steering anyway, so have fun going into the ditch at the first sign of trouble, I guess.
