There will be a day in which we will feel deep nostalgia for the old days. Where driving was free and was done by a person. Where modding and racing became a hobby that many people enjoyed. Where the stress relieving cruise will be outdated
These cars are the beginning of the end. We will become wage slaves in pods controlled by a script and will have no freedom. It's the beginning of a disgusting and boring dystopia.
It will be in our future.
ELECTRIC STARTERS AND FUEL INJECTION ARE A JEWISH PLOT TO MAKE MAINTENANCE IMPOSSIBLE AND SENTENCE US TO A LIFE OF ROBOT SLAVERY

>Self driving cars becoming a reality outside of in-city taxies

The tech in self driving vehicles makes them very costly. They must also be maintained religiously to prevent any possibility of error. This means that everywhere that isn't a big city will not be able to support having an autonomous taxi infrastructure. Furthermore, they are lightyears away from being able to deal with snow, poor road conditions, etc.
Women also like having their car as one giant purse/garbage can, something you can't do if you don't own the car. People like owning things. Anything where you have to tow something or go off the beaten path even a little bit will require a manually driven vehicle.
Manually driven cars aren't going anywhere.

That is a terrible analogy and you are retarded.

no.
Tesla is putting it on every car, even if you don't pay for it upfront.

Disliking the demise of operating cars is not the same as disliking technology.

There are already technologies that can respond to those conditions better than a human could. Mazda has an AWD system that adjusts to conditions which may cause traction loss before traction is ever lost.

when or where has driving ever been free

Oh good, glad to hear that AWD system will help that self-driving car judge what is snow, what is ice, remember where the ice patch from yesterday was, and help it brake extra early and weave around the bad patch, etc.
I'm not opposed to self-drivers but to think they'll be able to deal with things like US midwest winters anytime soon is a joke.

Yes... In this case, it is.

That's a fucking retarded argument. It's effectively the same thing as disliking being forced to take a taxi everywhere, whether or not the taxi is a robot or person.
>>15732807
Except we're not talking about taxis; we're talking about our own personal cars.
>>15732825
Now imagine you can't drive your own personal car and you have to have Guido drive it everywhere for you.
Explain me this then fagets.
>Year is 2053
>Self driving cars are now normal
>Its rare to see anybody driving a car
>You are on your way to work

>Suddenly 2 girls starts walking across the road RIGHT in front of your Tesla P8923
>Tesla is going at a pretty decent speed so it has to make a choice
>If Telsa turns wheel right, you drive into a wall, possible neck and back injury
>If Tesla turns left, you drive/fall into the sea
>If Tesla contiues to drive straight to "save you" 2 girls get killed.
Seriously, who the fuck are we gonna blame when the Tesla kills a person?

>the only "avoid" choice is a crash

Self drivers are largely a meme but this ridiculous scenario is even more of a meme.
