let's just have everybody not drive, yes. like, say a train.
>>
>>15730843
>End of the video has an advertisement for an Elon Musk biography
How could I not expect this... of course, automation supporters always have their noses buried up Elon Musk's ass.

Humans should be banned from driving though. For real, it'd solve so many problems. Only a matter of time until manually driven cars are a product of the past.
>>
Elon shill get out. Tesla is overpirced shit.
>>
I love CGP Grey. too bad he can only upload once in a fucking blue moon.

>>15730869
Speaking of things Humans won't be doing manually anymore. Robots that can do Manual Labor such as burger flipping, auto repair, cashier and even serious medical/surgical practices. I wonder how society is even going to function with technology forcing people out their jobs less known control of their cars. He did a Video on that too.
>>
>>15730909
It's going to be a matter of whether you're valuable to society or not. If you have something to offer, or if you're wealthy, you can live. If you have nothing, we'll close the doors of the gated communities and let you all starve and fight each other to the death for food.

Gonna be a lot more gibs me dats in the future. World is going to be a dangerous place in the future outside of select areas where the rich will reside.
>>
Well this solution is self-contradictory.
>the reason you can't make it through an intersection is because cars take off with gaps between them. We need to take off with no gap.
>no gotta keep a gap between your cars because tailgating causes traffic.

Also self driving cars will never be able to have those intersectionless roads like he explains. They will naturally need to have large gaps and safety margins just like humans to account for unpredicted behavior, like an animal running out as he said earlier in the video.

Also fuck pedestrians. They cause traffic to back up like a motherfucker in the city.
>>
>>15730869
>Elon Musk biography
Read it, it's pretty good, the writer was in no way affiliated to Musk so he doesn't sugarcoat anything. It explains very well why Musk is a complete cunt.

yeah not really but nice try

better solution.

cars are volume inefficient. eliminate the need for most people to drive. leaving the roads for those that have to drive.

>>
>>15731318
Basic income.
Once the transportation industry is automated, basic income is going to be part of our national discussion. It will need to be.

There are a few problems with this automation. There is plenty of work to do. Pot holes need filling, roof drains need unclogging, trash picked up. Work is out there. The big problem with unemployment is the work is not profitable, and so, does not get done.
Or the private landowner is too cheap to properly maintain the building they're collecting rents from.

That said, we will see new jobs after the transportation industry is automated. We can use that workforce elsewhere to generate profit.
One thing people neglect to think of is farming. Farmers can automate tractors, and get more shit done.

Capitalism is it's own grave digger. The rapid automation we're experiencing only makes the system redundant. Why have all the profit in the hands of the useless few who do none of the work? Simply owning the machines, land and building, does not make that person useful.

Extract the taxes from them, distribute them among the nation. Move to a thirty hour work week, which will reduce workplace accidents and unemployment. We can also start labour organizations that send people to jobs that aren't profitable (litter collection, pothole filling, things that require little education) so we can keep our cities and highways running optimally. Such an organization would need to be reimbursed by the government to keep afloat, likely.

Things are probably going to be fine. Basic income and reduced working hours will delay the guillotine for the rich. You'll have work, work less, and have more time for yourself.
>>
>>15731889
Are you a troll or are you actually this deluded?
>>
>>15730909
Robots aren't going to do shit like auto repair or flipping burgers, have you ever attempted either in your life? Too many variables.

>>
>>15732045

Well he's right about the looming threat of automation. It's gonna cause a big ol' fuckstorm.

However the government handing out money "from the rich" will never happen. It's gonna come out of the middle guy's pockets. The dude who owns a modest landscaping business, the engineer who makes a decent living but nothing extravagant. Those people are going to get steamrolled and join the people who used to work at McDonalds but can't anymore because all their shit was automated. The super rich will still own everything.
>>
>>15732045
The latter, usually. Just report them and move on.

We don't need humans anymore. Humans are nothing but an obsolete employee training the new employee before he gets canned. Humans are scum and make mistakes. The Earth is overpopulated and we need to reduce the birth numbers and bring the population down. Humans are cancer and scum that deserve nothing but to be treated like livestock. Humans standard of living is too high and there are too many people. Humans are the problem and the less of them we have on this earth, the better life will be.
>>
>>15732095
Don't waste reports on posts like this, we only get so many per day and they should be saved for pure shitposting from alphonse and his ilk.
>>
>>15731870
Not really. People can always get mad and riot and wreck shit and generally preach divisiveness, so as less people can find traditional work, more and more will turn to violence instead until the population drops to a manageable amount.
>>
>>15730843
>How to prevent traffic
>Everyone drives sensible and according to the same rules
That experiment already failed. Just have the fastest lane require an advanced driving license to use, keep the fuckwits out. Anyone caught in the fast lane without the right license gets a huge fine and their car confiscated on the spot.
>>
>>15730843

>>
>>15732094
There's always the French Revolution or Russian Revolution route. We poor could kill every last rich person and consume the wealth from their carcasses.
Basic income. Think of it as guillotine insurance. Hundreds of millions of starving Americans could do a lot of damage to that pretty gated community.
>>
>>15732436
"Pure shitposting" is "kek gm fangirls got triggered again roflmao"
>>
>>15732185
It's comedy. The actual solution, as much as MUH CAR PEOPLE hate to hear it, are more walkable cities. Either restrict driving to your free time if you insist on your hobby, or move to a place where there's enough space for it, not the fucking city.

This is page one in white man's handbook m8
>>
>>15732721
Our cities are mostly fine. It's American cities that are complete dumps because you not only have a higher wealth inequality but also abandoned your cities in favor of location based wealth segregation. You basically have to buy your way into a community fitting your income class based on land values just to get away from horrid poverty and crime.
>>
>>15732739
Cities inevitably become containment zones for whatever version of the horde is in your area. If you aren't some art-degree moron you can easily afford a place outside of the city. Usually a pretty nice one for cheap, too. Suburbs are the expensive meme, townhomes or rural properties aren't.
>>
>>15730843
>ban all people from driving
what a fucking cuck. even his god Elon said there shouldn't be an outright ban on people who still want to drive after autonomous driving takes over.
>>
The real solution to traffic is no more cars.

Bikes (both pedal and motor) would never get stuck in traffic like cars do.
>>
>>15733046
Chinks do that and it's still chaos.
>>
>>15732703
>more walkable cities
Great, so long as you live and work in the same city, never leave and don't require anything to be brought in or taken out.
>>
>>15733184
>never leave and don't require anything to be brought in or taken out.

What are trains and ships?
>>
>>15733208
Not for what you think they're for. Trains and ships carry bulk goods which are taken to a warehouse (in a truck) where they are broken down into quantities the customer requires and then sent out (in another truck). Sometimes warehouses send parcels to a distribution centre (again, in a truck) where they are sorted for final delivery, which done in either a van or truck depending on size.

I guess you're right.

I wonder how anyone ever got anything before the invention of the internal-combustion engine?

Thing is, ships and train is how things and people used to move about in Britain until the Beeching Axe came down and more money was piled in to cars.

Oh, and of course he's a fat fuck.

Pretty much this is "we have not achieved the grand ambitions promised so far and we'll never will". This is akin to someone in 1870s france seeing a steam bus peddling along and saying that such things will never replace the horse.
