Was wondering all your thoughts on a toyota supra, I want something i can modify to an extent.
an expensive car that has an interior almost as nice as a rx7
at this point i would leave it stock. they are old cars now, and will never lose value
>>15724001
Meme car
They are a nice car, Although i want to get the JZ8 Twin Turbo and put a nice Tomei Exhaust on it.
>>15724001
BPU mods are the way to go, keep the stock turbos they are good for 400-450hp on pump gas
All the large single turbo cars are the dyno queen 600-800hp supras but at this level the car becomes useless as a daily
My advice stay BPU and then just make her look like the supra you always wanted in your head....fmic? Wing? Wheels? Bodykit? And always get sequential Bob's
>>15724066
Bob's ? Fucking auto correct
BOV's ***
>>15724008
>almost as nice as a rx7
rx7s have laughably shit interiors
Only Manual TT, if not then fuck of poser
Leave it stock. They only get more valuable
>>15724066
Are those plates on the Supra old or do I follow you on Instagram?
>>15724154
>anyone on /o/ owning either of those cars
>>15724001
Get an Eclipse GSX. They look vaguely similar, especially with the high rise spoiler, and you can mod the fuck out of it without worrying about ruining a car soon to be worth as much as a house.
Over hyped Pigfat meme car.
If it wasn't for the fast and furious movies they would likely be an affordable grand touring car.
>>15724358
It was used in FnF precisely because they were already overhyped meme cars. Same with the GT-Rs and 240SXs and S2000s.
>>15724349
6th gen gt4 falls in the same catagory too
>>15724373
Maybe in Japan but would that have translated to the US without the FnF movies?
>Up until that point I mostly saw bone stock supras that were clean and driven by middle age people.
>>15724382
ST205s were never sold in NA and aren't particularly common even in Japan and Australia. They're not Supra-tier unicorns, but I'd still leave it stock if I got one.
>>15724413
oops i skimmed over that part of your post, i was just thinking looks-wise
>>15724066
I'm with this goy
buy a soarer and spend the rest on a quality twin turbo set up
What happened to Toyota?
As time goes by it just gets uglier
>>15726256
This. I don't know why people cream their pants over this car that looks like a melted bar of soap. It doesn't handle that great and just has its engine for itself but you can buy a SC300 for a fraction of the price and get the same result.
>>15726285
>it doesn't handle that great
I take you have much experience behind the wheel of one?
>>15726302
Of course he doesn't lol he's parroting shit he read here on /o/ from other poorfags
>>15724072
this, owned a fd the interior is ass
>>15726350
This. Most negative things to be said about it on here are by people who have no idea what they're talking about.
>>15724001
somewhat unrelated but what about the nissan z32 compared to supra?
much cheaper in my country.
you can get a tt version of the z32 for 6,000ish with 140,000km. 140,000km tt supra costs 30,000.
hmmm
>>15724022
This
>>15728441
Meaningless label.
>>15724001
a fucking amazing car, but not the ultimate car.
it's great and the sky is the limit (depending on ur wallet) and pretty fucking amazing but people who say it's the ultimate car don't own one.
it can be made into something close to the ultimate car, but no car's perfect.
get one if you like one, it won't disappoint.
also 5 star crash rating in real life, they're fucking tough as nails when it comes to impacts.
>>15724330
Top kek, i own both a supra and a 33 GTR.
Also to OP, it's a great car, but don't believe the hype. It's amazing but you don't instantly hit 1000hp on stock internals.
That's pure bullshit from people who will never be able to afford one.
>>15726382
this, the supra is actually very good at handling.
near perfect weight distribution infact.
>>15729588
They're notorious however for getting into head on collisions on television via an asshole running from the police.
Two supras, owners obviously dead. RIP.
>>15729593
>don't believe the hype. It's amazing but you don't instantly hit 1000hp on stock internals.
I don't think anyone claims that other than underage 1320 kiddies. It can, however, reliably reach ~600 hp on stock internals.
>>15729598
>near perfect weight distribution infact.
"B-but it looks fat, so it obviously must be! C-can't turn, amirite guise?"
>>15729608
Notorious? I'm not aware of this. It's a moderately known fact that Supras are one of the highest ticketed models per capita. Any sauce on the two?
>>15729593
>>15729626
>huur 2jz can't do 1000hp on stock internals! Only dumb ricers think that!!
Stop being contrarian faggots. 2jz making quad figures on an unopened engine isn't a myth. It's incredibly common.

>>15729649
I've never been more pleased to be proven wrong or called a faggot. I didn't know this was possible.
>>15724001
The Supra was the last good car Toyota made. If you can find one, buy it. They are awesome.
>>15729593
Yeah I know I own 2 Teslas, and a Nissan GT-R, but you know I just cannot take a pic with timestamp right know because reasons
>>15724385
Pretty much this, they were essentially a Japanese corvette
>>15729593
>Top kek, i own both a supra and a 33 GTR
sure thing captain faggot
>>15729759
>>15729824
some anon's posted loads of times before with the same story so I'm pretty sure he's legit
>>15729834
I know of R33 anon
I know of Supra anon
But not R33 & Supra anon
>>15729649
>incredibly common
>>15729839
What if they are same anon?
>X-Files theme
reminder supra and frs are same size
>>15729863
>>15729865
post actual dimensions with a source or fuck off
>>15729883
Have you never seen an FR-S up close? They're pigfat as fuck. You're basically asking for a citation for something like "the sky is blue."
>>15729907
>actual measurements prove me wrong so let me see if I can try and bullshit my way out of this
>>15729883
Width:
FR-S: 70 in
A80: 71 in
Height:
FR-S: 50.6 in
A80: 50.2 in
Length:
FR-S: 167 in
A80: 177 in
They're about the same dimensions, with the Supra being longer.
Wider, longer, lower for muh aero.
>>15724072
>>15726370
woosh
>>15729913
also this:
curb weight base model FR-S (not the jdm lightweight model)
2,758 lb
wheelbase: 101.2 in
Supra turbo
weight: 3,461 lb (NA is 200 less)
wheelbase:100.4 in
>the GT86 is 700 lb lighter, has a longer wheelbase despite being shorter.
>>15729934
Is this wheelbase good on the togue? Can I win with it?
>>15729912
>i deny fact, reality, and common knowledge
>>15729947
>I'm going to pretend that two cars, 10 inches apart in length, are the same size
>>15729865
>>15729883
The supra is definitely longer and weighs more than the 86, although it might be a bit heavier than most cars, the handling still feels solid and precise.
And yeh, unless you plan on doing some hardcore time attacks its not really worth complaining about the weight much, and its easy enough to just modify weight reduction anyway.
>>15729839
r33 anon has a supra as well, he bought it a few months ago.
it's probs him.
>>15729984
Pls get glass headlights mah dude.
>>15724001
MK4 supra ; most overrated toyota
MK3 supra ; most underrated toyota
MK2 supra ; sexiest toyota
MK1 supra ; >>>>implying
>>15730128
>A80
Properly rated Toyota.
>A70
Wangan warrior.
>A60
A blockier Corolla/less ugly Celica.
>A40

china
>>15724001
If you get one then don't make retarded power with it like those 1320-wannabe kids all do with their 5k spool 7k redline 355 drag radial meme machines, its pointless.
If I had one all id do is swap the twin turbos for a single Borg warner EFR and some bolt ons, exhaust for better flow for example, and leave everything else as close to stock as possible.
Pic very related
>>15726440
Difficult to work on/horrid engine bay, also its much more of a touring car then the supra which is an outright sports car, has a softer suspension and I think is a little heavier?
I imagine the best thing to do with a z32 if you like the car and really want to own it: either get one that's N/A or just swap it for whichever better engine you can find, like an RB26 or a VQ35/37 if a 3.7 will fit.
>>15726440
Oh I forgot to add, for those price differnces have you looked at skylines? Maybe an R33 GTR or even GTS-Ts which make 280hp or something and can easily be modded.
If you're prepared to work on it and its stock for 6k get the Z32 desu
>>15730123
That's an old pic man, the cars changed alot now including glass headlights, but I didn't have any newer pics of the supra sat next to the 86
>>15724330
My Supra RZ
It's not as crazy as you think
>>15732092
So we have two anons that both own Royal Sapphire Pearls? Imperial Jade Mica when?
>>15724001
Overrrated pigfat klutzy dragracer.
>>15732105
It isn't Royal Sapphire, it was originally a red car.
Unfortunately I can't find an aftermarket paint code anywhere on the car. Gonna have to get it matched.
>>15732111
Unoriginal ignorant misinformed parroting memeshitposter
>>15732092
Damn thats wide, what kit is on it? Any full body pics?
SC300>Supra
>>15733358
how?
>>15733368
Easy
Supra=overpriced meme car
SC300=Same car but sleeper tier, also luxury
The only advantage the Supra has is its stock 2JZ-GTE where the SC300 has the 2JZ-GE but a true enthusiast would rectify this
>>15733346
Not certain what kit it is. Just had it imported recently, there's some de-ricing to be done, IMO. The previous owner wasn't the most technically talented about the installation of most things, either. I've since removed the wing, getting ready to fit a Ridox kit over the winter.
>>15733395
>>15734310
Yeh definitely could use a bit of tidying up, but I kinda dig the over the top wangan style look its got going
>>15734310
How would someone go about importing japanese cars? I live in the us so I am sure it'll be hard to find left-hand drive cars but id like to know just for reference.
>>15735041
I live in Canada, so I have no idea how you'd go about it. I went through a local import service.
>>15735321
yeah mk4 supras arent 25 years old yet so i doubt ill be able to import one to the US
>>15724001
Its ok
>>15732105
I almost bought one a month ago kek
>>15735724
get a usdm one?
>>15724001
>Owning a car made in the early 90s in the year 2016

You don't know how to change your own oil and brake pads, kid? Enjoy "free" dealership service on your lease vehicle every time you need wiper fluid
>>15736290
>almost
Why would you not?
>>15736556
>getting mad at current year shitposting in september
>>15735724
They will be for you guys pretty damn soon. I've already noticed the prices climbing in anticipation of the US market being able to import them.
>>15737577
2018 will see the first major market price fall since, I can only assume, the first depreciation cycle when these were still being produced.
>>15724001
i miss the 90's...
300zx, rx7, and supras... awesome
>>15736295
they are pretty damn expensive. even a non turbo one costs like 16k+ where i live. I can have one imported for 10k and covers everything. i just wont be able to have it because i cant legally import it yet
