If you're going for a regular 106 get a 1.9d. Those engines literally last forever.

I got the 1.4 petrol.
I absolutely hate it, its the definition of shitbox though. You can beat it to death.
Its super brutal at highway speeds, whole car rattles like a fuck and sounds like its about to explode.
Also problematic to accelerate in highway, other cars will smash into you if youre not ready to merge in at appropriate speed.
Shit at turning.
Shitload of things are broken, plastic doesnt hold well.
Probably more related to my own 106, consumes more fuel than I'd expect for this shit performance.

My peugeot also has probably one of the worst colors I've ever seen. Its super cringe to drive in.

My mom used to have a petrol and loved it, never had an issue

No. It just feels great and i agree with that. Its super light so you feel like youre driving in a go kart, pushing you to the side. Its fun.
However, this is not about feels but about actual turning. And thats simply shit. Even a modern 3 ton shitbox will turn better.

But why would you want a diesel 106?
They're much better with nippy petrol engines

I've owned a 306 and a 206 both with the 1.9 Diesel.
It seemed like it was too heavy even for those cars. I can't imagine how terrible it would be on a 106.

Yeah, they are. They're also gutless as you would know.
But they're quite old and proven, and being N/A and having mechanical injectors they would last forever.
